Do you have a github token you want me to use for it so it goes straight to you? Save as a file and upload it somewhere? How can I make useful for you?

It’s an open repo so should work on your own login if you are logged in to GitHub. Discover new devices in the plugin menu then export to GitHub.
If it doesn’t it can create a file you can load to an issue in that repo.

Do you think we could get native support for the DSC Alarm panel? It's a pretty popular plugin.

So I think I figured out a glitch. sensors that natively report open/closed aren't recognized as sensors by the app. (That's why DSC zones, blue iris motion zones, etc, don't populate correctly.)

I tried a work around to test my theory....
to keep indigo clean, I created a new shared folder "Domio-smart-home" to put stuff in there that only the app needs to see. Then I created a couple masqureade devices for the sensors that the app wasn't picking up. For a DSC zone, for example...
Device Class: Plugin
Plugin: DSC Alarm
Device to Masquerade: (Pick zone).
State to Masqueraed: "state"
Match String "open"
Sensor Type "Motion Sensor"

This now will show up in the security tab under "Motion" Long press and change it to door/window.

I did something similar with a blue iris camera to add it as a motion security sensor and to a garage door to show as a door/window sensor. The common denominator isn't plugin support, it's a definition logic thing... I think.

So DSC Zones are custom devices rather than the typical sensor type defined by indigo.. I’m guessing it’s from a time before such things existed. I’ve actually been working on ‘modernising’ the plugin, but Ive not yet heard back from the plugin author about if they want to merge my changes into the existing plugin or if it’d be better to release it as its own version as a lot of the changes are breaking to existing setups.

Question, I’ve kept security as read only for now. Thoughts on enabling arming and disarming alarm with the app? Would it need security , ie biometric or pin?

Good question. I don't know about other security integrations... with DCS you could have an arm home/arm away... but just a keypad in lieu of a disarm button? I think if someone can get into your phone and a user has the option to add face ID to an app.... I wouldn't see a risk to having a disarm button either because that's two layers of biometrics to get to that button.

Personally though, I wouldn't use it. I use my door lock. A sucessfull door unlock triggers an action to disarm the alarm so I don't have to put in a pin at the door and another as soon as I walk in.

Current configuration you could add a virtual button to disarm as a favorite if you really wanted that quickly accessable. Something else I couldn't really use. (I hit a cellular dead spot about a block from my house. I don't get connectivity again until I'm at my door or inside long enough to get back on wifi.) creates a hickup for several automations... especially location ones.

From my perspective, even although I have a similar setup to whmoorejr automatically disabling the alarm, a pin-code would be useful for 3rd parties who may need access to the house, or indeed if there was an alarm whilst away but it was a false alert.. one of those pesky cats triggering something again.

Ahh, yeah I kinda gathered.. alas not one that made it over here.. at least not that I recall anyway.

so also expericening some strange behavior. Seems devices that are Dimmers are fine... I can easily control them from this app... but other devices that are On/Off, give me a "Server returned HTTP 404" error.

These On / Off devices correctly reflect the state from the Indigo Server, but I can't turn them on or off with the app. Doesn't seem to matter what I have set for Device Type.. Appliance and/ or Auto Detect have the same response.



FWIW, all my devices and Variables show up under Browse, and can access all the Pages.. just can't turn some devices on or off....

Guess I'm still doing something wrong, just not sure what it is.

On my end, a dimmer light and an on/off light operate different, but both operate. A dimmer light, you click the device, you get the popup with the option to power on/off the light or a dimmer slider to adjust. With an on/off device, you control it from the main page(when it's in a room). When you open the device where the device takes up the screen, the device doesn't function.

Once you create rooms and start moving different devices around, you might get a better feel for it.

Since you are getting an error though, I'm not sure what's going on with yours.
