Combiner offline

Post by Different Computers »

After a nice long stretch of faultless connection, this morning I notice this:

Code: Select all

Enphase Envoy Plugin Error connecting to Device:Combiner Error is:Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)
Enphase Envoy Plugin Error Exception in Main Loop
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "plugin.py", line 461, in runConcurrentThread
    self.checkEnvoyType(dev)
File "plugin.py", line 1619, in checkEnvoyType
    if "production" in data:
       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
TypeError: argument of type 'NoneType' is not iterable
Enphase Envoy Plugin Error plugin runConcurrentThread function returned or failed (will attempt again in 10 seconds)
I've restarted the plugin, to the same effect. Checking the interface with the Enphase website shows it's working. As are reports from each individual panel.

Thoughts on troubleshooting?

Well it means that no data is being returned from your device. Basically the car analogy is it is not starting.

Thats a pretty broad issue.

Could be:
Network IP settings
Network firewall Mac/OSX settings
Firmware of device upgrade and now no longer compatible
Incorrect device setup settings.
Incorrect IP address entered into Settings page
Security issues with connections/https etc/SSL/libraries of Mac
Wifi- Network connection

Among a host of issues, which I could probably keep generating for the next hour or so….

Or you have enabled the do-not-enabled button, which was the earlier and similar issue here you had?

Failing the above(s) - the device may have had its firmware upgraded and is no longer compatible with the plugin device. If thats the case there is not much I can do. Version 7 which is supported added a host of cloud needed login aspects - I sure there are a few forum posts here about it until I supported it.

It is possible you are late to this firmware change - but not much info here to go on.

As per the last thread - you need to do some basic troubleshooting, You should in the Envoy-S device try the Debug - log all endpoints button after setting this device up and see what the output is.

You best hope is something simple like an IP address change/user error somewhere, or the firmware upgraded means its like an Envoy-S device now and changing device types may work…

I away for a few weeks, so won’t have any change to look at it for a while.

Best of luck

Glenn

I've double checked everything I can. Essentially everything under my control.

Reached out to Enphase because the link to getting api keys isn't populated correctly and waiting to hear back from them.
