Hi John.

If it's not listed in the Supported Devices of the Hue API yet, then the plugin won't support it, but I can add support after you've paired it with your Hue bridge and provided me with the model ID shown for it in the Hue app.

As I understand the friends of hue switch can be added to the plugin? I have the Niko ones. What would you need for this to happen from my part?

Hello.

I'd like to support the Niko switch, but really need one with which to test. The only reason I was able to add the Run Less Wire switch is because another user on the forum was able to test button events and Hue bridge debug console output himself and then provide that output to me. Even so, Run Less Wire support is somewhat experimental since he only had time to do limited testing.

If you're familiar with the Hue bridge debug console and can perform some button event tests and output, I might be able to add limited support. That's a somewhat advanced developer feature though, so if you're not familiar with REST type APIs and JSON output, it may take you some time to get useful information from the Hue bridge. And unfortunately, it seems each of the different switches behave differently, so it's not possible to adapt the Run Less Wire code to work with all Friends of Hue switches.
