On January 13, 2025, all users that linked ecobee to your application using the ecobee API prior to December 2020 will be required to re-authenticate. As a result, such users will no longer be able to access or control ecobee thermostats from your application until they have successfully re-authenticated.
To minimize user impact, we recommend ensuring that your application responds to invalid_grant errors and requires users to re-authenticate. Details on authorization error handling can be foundhere.
