Google Calendar Plugin needs authorization every ... weeks

I've installed the Google Calendar plugin and followed all the steps to get it to work. And it works fine.
Except that after a couple of weeks the sync stops and I need to perform the "Authorize Access" step again.
Any idea why that's happening and how I can fix this?
