Aeon Labs Aeotec ZW098-A52 RGBWW LED Bulb

I've bought an Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave LED Light Bulb, Gen5 from http://www.amazon.com/Aeon-Labs-Aeotec- ... B00VQISQW4

I was able to sync without any trouble to an Aeotec Gen5 Z-Wave USB Stick, with Indigo 6.1.2. The light works and is dimmable but no color channel control.

I've submitted the device details, but here are the details from the log as well.

(I was secretly hoping that it would present as a Zipato RGBWW...)

We have one of these modules in-house, but are having some difficulties getting it fully supported. We are working with Aeotec development to get it supported in a future version of Indigo.

+1 for supporting color channels on these bulbs. just installed 3 of them.

Would we have to repurchase this future version of Indigo or would it be an update?

Not sure yet which version it will be going in. If it is in a major release, then you would need to purchase an upgrade (discounted – not the full price of a new license).

I have bought one to try it out. Obviously it is only dimmable at the moment, but it does go quite bright!

Hi,
any update on when Indigo will support the color functionality for this bulb?
I'm currently trialing the software and me purchasing it is somewhat dependant on fully support for this bulb.

We are focusing on supporting several new Z-Wave modules, includes many from Aeotec, in the next major release of Indigo. No ETA as to when it will be available.

Any way it happens, major upgrade release or not. Happy to pay for improvement!!!

Would like to use these in upstairs 2 wire pull chain fixtures with old plaster ceiling (not rewiring for now), with virtual mini remote wall switches.
Standard out of box color is too cold compared to Phillips LED 2700K bulbs everywhere else in house. Definite significant other downer.

"Warm White" available by manually changing bulb color (by quickly switching off, on, off, on) is pretty cold. Especially bad for a bedroom.

Now I wish I'd read this thread before buying !

I usually do, but with Chameleon's plugin it seemed like "most" RGB bulbs were likely to be supported.

Oh well, roll on Indigo 8.

We will not be giving any estimates as to when specific modules will be supported. However, we are working on a major release of Indigo and Aeotec module support is high on the priority list.
