[SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

ZIPATO has just released a Z-wave RGBW led bulb. Very interesting!
This is like a hue lamp but it runs z-wave.
Is this device supported, or could it be supported by Indigo?

It might work, but we won't know until someone gets one and gives it a try.

If you get one, then after you Define/Sync (and then test it to see if it works), press the Edit Device Settings... button in the device dialog followed by the Submit Device Information. Indigo will then open a browser web page. Be sure and fill out the form before submitting the information (the more information, the more easily we can add support for the module).

I have just ordered one of the bulbs now, so we will see.
The retailer said I could expect to get the white light to work, but maybe not the rgb part.
I will post when I have received it.

Just an update.
I have just received the RGBW bulb, and it is easily included to indigo.
But as expected it has no RGB functionality, only W. So I am able to dim the white light. This however works very good.
I have submitted device information. So now I just hope that the experts can work some magic.
The device seams very nice, and if I get the RGB part working this can be a good HUE alternative

Just a small update on this. I don't know how RGB would be implemented on Indigo, but I have noticed that my RGBW device has been synced as two devices with a slider each. As of now these sliders control the same thing; the white light.
So I can turn on the white light with both sliders. I would assume that one of these sliders is meant to control the colour of the RGB light.

I just spent some time trying to figure out how to control the individual color channels on this device, and haven't had any luck.

It doesn't support the additional endpoints (one per color channel) like the Fibaro RGBW module, so they must be using some other command (likely manufacturer specific) to control it. My Google-foo was unable to find any technical documents or examples. I only found a quick start guide that didn't have details.

I've sent them an email requesting additional information. I'll update this thread if I get it.

Indigo v6.0.13 is now available for download and includes preliminary support for the Zipato RGBW bulbs. Please read the usage notes here for details about how it works with Indigo.

I picked up one of these bulbs on Amazon to mess around with. It was tricky to get the device to sync with Indigo but it eventually did with repeated taps of the bulb (turns bulb green to confirm inclusion mode) during syncing. The two devices that were set up in the devices tab appear to be a warm white bulb (2700K) and a cool white bulb (4000 K). The default appears to be cool white if you do nothing with the z wave actions and simply turn the bulb on and off via Indigo. I set up an action to turn the bulb on with the RGB colors set to 0 and the white set to 100 and the bulb then becomes a warm white temperature. Once the bulb is on warm white you can toggle the appropriate warm white device on and off and the bulb holds it color. If you turn the bulb off and turn it back on via the cool white device it defaults back to all cool white regardless of which device you choose.

The warm white color temperature is very close to the Cree bulbs. One other noteworthy preliminary observation is the bulb dims all the way down to 2% which is better than any other LED bulb I have seen. I will continue to mess around and see how the color spectrum compares to my RGB LED strips.

I messed around with setting colors with this bulb and I noticed the red spectrum wasn't responding at all and I was thinking about returning the bulb. After turning the cool white device and the warm white device off in the devices tab and then trying to set colors everything appears to be working. So...for some reason you need to turn both devices off before applying colors. Having the white spectrum to blend with the colors is new to me, it offers a lot more variation.

Hi - I just picked up one of these bulbs to test it out. While I can get it to flash green with repeated taps of the bulb, it will not associate with my aeon stick when inclusion mode. I have literally been trying for the last 20 mins. Any ideas on what is wrong or tips to get it to include?

Try excluding it first. It might have been included with a module at the factory as part of QA, and it won't include with the Z-Stick if it is already included. Note you can use the Z-Stick's exclusion mode to exclude it.

Hi

I just installed one of the lights and I only see it as 1 device. With this one device I can only dim it I can't change colours.

The version of Indigo I have is 6.0.20

Should I be seeing it as 2 devices?
