Controlling an Apple TV through the network

This has been out for a while, but I haven't seen anyone post it on the forum yet. If your Apple TV is jailbroken, you can control it fairly easy using HTTP. http://support.firecore.com/entries/213 ... ntrol-beta

Better yet, there is a "Now Playing API" which can return an XML file with details of whatever is currently playing on the Apple TV. This is perfect for having a "Now Playing" item on a house dashboard.

As much as i try to avoid jailbreaking, that's might be just enough for me to justify doing my AppleTVs.. i just wish Apple had a built in API for 3rd party remote control functionality... considering how popular those boxes are with media integrators i'd make sense.
