I'm excited to announce that Domio Smart Home is now available on the App Store - a modern iOS app for controlling your Indigo system built with Liquid Glass and the latest Siri and shortcut functionality.

This is a replacement for Apple Home app as a polished UI for Indigo for all members of your household. With the exception of the optional Logs over Reflector plugin to have historic logs on your phone, everything is customisable on the phone by all users, with the coming option of sharing setups to less technical users.

What's in v1.0:

- Device Control - Toggle relays, adjust dimmer brightness with sliders, and control thermostats
(setpoints and HVAC modes) - all with real-time updates over WebSocket
- Sensor Support - View temperature, humidity, and other sensor readings with tiered type
detection
- Action Groups - Execute your scenes with a single tap and haptic feedback
- Variables - View, edit, and copy Indigo variables
- Event Log - Real-time log viewer with severity filtering, search, infinite scroll pagination,
and historical log browsing with date picker (requires the LogsOverReflector plugin for history)
- Room Organisation - Create custom rooms, assign devices and action groups, and organise
everything with drag-and-drop reordering (with jiggle animation, just like iOS home screen)
- Browse Tab - A traditional folder-based view of all your devices, action groups, and variables
with collapsible sections and search
- iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design - Glass toolbars, hero zoom transitions, high-contrast cards, and a
purple-tinted translucent background throughout
- Siri & Shortcuts Integration - Control devices with Siri voice commands ("Turn off the kitchen
lights") and build Shortcuts automations including location-based triggers
- AI Voice Assistant - Ask natural language questions about your home ("Is the garage door
open?", "What's the temperature upstairs?") with text-to-speech responses and configurable voices
- Demo Mode - Try out the app without an Indigo server to see how it looks and feels
- Secure Remote Access - Connects via your Indigo Reflector with API key authentication stored in
Keychain
- Full VoiceOver Accessibility - Every control is accessible

What's coming next:

We've been busy since submitting to the App Store and have some great features already developed
for upcoming releases:

- RGB & Colour Temperature Controls - Full HSB colour picker and colour temperature slider for
colour-capable dimmers, with the device card icon tinted to show the current colour
- Security Dashboard - A dedicated security section that automatically classifies your alarm
zones and sensors into Doors, Motion, Safety, and Other categories with smart summary pills
(e.g., "2 open, 1 tripped") and shield badges
- Significant improvements in AI performance and Siri use.
- Stability & Architecture Improvements - Structured logging, thread-safe reconnection, better
error recovery, and improved data caching

Domio connects to your Indigo server via the Reflector, so you'll need an active Reflector
subscription and an API key from your Indigo account. Local access will be coming soon.

v1.1 has just been released, that includes
---
Security Dashboard — See all your alarm zones at a glance, organised by doors, motion, and safety sensors with real-time status.

RGB & Color Temperature — Full color control for your RGB dimmers with a visual color picker and color temperature slider.

Faster Voice Assistant — Switched to Claude Haiku for 2-3x faster voice responses. Compact device directory and prompt caching further reduce latency.

Per-Provider AI Keys — Store separate API keys for Claude and OpenAI with a dedicated key entry screen.

Apple Watch — Voice control from your wrist. Speak a command, Watch relays to iPhone for processing. This is deliberately basic to see whats occurring initially, but will be improved on.

Siri Shortcuts — Set Indigo variables from Shortcuts automations for location-based triggers. You can now trigger a variable to change based on Location triggers. This uses Shortcuts location, so doesnt need the app to have location awareness or be running in the background. Also no more custom setups.

Control Pages - See your control pages from within the app, and access them with deep links direct from a email, pushover message or iMessage.

Reliability — Thread-safe ViewModels, structured logging, smarter reconnection, and fixes across
event logs, control pages, and caching.

Known bugs awaiting release are
Thermostats - support for Fahrenheit temperatures and Mode control.
Logging errors visible on Indigo logs.

AI use is approx $3 for 1000 uses, which probably means its < $1 per month in most usual use cases. Keen to hear how people use it and if there are improvements to make. I optimised for speed and cost rather than functionality so deliberately short responses.

I do need more device types to test with, specifically Alarms, so please message if you can help provide details.

1. Smarter Voice Assistant

Device directory now includes inline state data — the AI sees on/off status, brightness, battery levels, temperatures, and colors
Fleet queries work naturally: "What's on in the kitchen?", "Any doors open?", "Which devices have low battery?"
System prompt rebuilt with fresh device state on each query

2. Relay Detail Sheet

New detail sheet for relay devices with toggle control and device info
Device Info debug section added to all device detail sheets (dimmer, thermostat, sensor)
Shared routing logic replaces duplicated sheet presentation across 5 views

3. Local Network & Connectivity

Local HTTPS/WSS support — connect securely on your home network

For now this local connection is for faster responses when on home network but with the app still based on a reflector and API key for remote use.

I’ll add secret key and remove the initial requirement for entering a reflector id in an upcoming release.

What’s New in Version 1.4

Now compatible with iPhone and iPad running iOS 18 and later — no longer requires iOS 26. Liquid Glass effects are preserved on the latest devices, with a clean material design fallback on older hardware.

Also in this update:
∙ Demo-first onboarding — explore the app instantly before connecting
∙ Guided coach marks tour to help you get set up
∙ Connect locally using your Indigo local secret — no longer requires an API key
∙ Streamlined connection settings with remote, local, and auto switching. Green light indicates reflector connection, blue for local ip based connection. Auto mode will as the name suggests automatically connect on local network, or when on vpn to home, falling back to reflector as required.
