Connecting HomeBridge to Indigo

If this is the wrong forum, please advise me where to go.

I have now added many native HomeKit devices to my home and have been using the kluge with virtual devices up to now. I decided to do what I should have done after I added the second HomeKit device and switched to running Homebridge (same Mac mini). Homebridge (v1.11.1) is installed and appears to be working correctly. However, I don't see where to go from here. I've wandered about in the Homebridge wiki pages and mostly remained ignorant.

How do I connect the Homebridge app to Indigo? The Homebridge plugin Where do I add the HomeKit devices that I want to see in Indigo (I'm guessing in Homebridge)? Any pointers will be very helpful.

This plugin ("HomeKitLink Siri") is for publishing Indigo devices to HomeKit. The plugin acts as an accessory bridge.

At this time, there is no way to import HomeKit only devices into Indigo. That I know of.

There's a potential backdoor way to do it using Home Assistant. HA has the capability to act as a HomeKit server, but requires the HomeKit compatible device to be paired to Home Assistant rather than your normal HomeKit network. And then you could use Home Assistant Agent to import them into Indigo. No one I know has tested this yet. It's on my to-do list, when I get around to it.

I should clarify that I am currently using Indigo to control my HomeKit devices without a problem. I want to be able to get the info from my HomeKit devices (like sensors, etc.) back into Indigo. I was under the impression that running a separate instance of Homebridge (successfully connected to HomeKit) could accomplish this, essentially two one-way bridges. If there is a less complicated way to do this with Home Assistant, please provide a link to help educate me.

You might use Siri Shortcuts to ‘Get State’ of HomeKit devices. I haven’t tried this yet

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a way of doing this. Did you read somewhere that you can? Tbh I’d be surprised if there was a way, the way HomeBridge works is it presents itself to HomeKit as a hub or device to control, but no information from other devices or hubs are transmitted back to it directly via HomeKit as it’s not designed to do that.. in fact I think it’s designed specifically NOT to do that!

Are you wanting to keep these sensors in HomeKit?

I don't want to "keep" the sensors in HomeKit. I do want to use Matter and HomeKit sensors, and have their data available to Indigo.

I can see how to use Shortcuts to "Get state" and to "Control Home" but how does that get the info into Indigo? I'm right back to the HomeKit Automations kluge and change a virtual device, but this time using Shortcuts. Is there an advantage here?
