"... Home app Client incompatible..."

Post by hensed »

After the 6 iPhones and 4 iPads that have upgraded to ios26, one phone is unable to see the camera feeds from home app. just one. when that person launches the home app, indigo gets a continuous message in the log:

Code: Select all

HomeKitLink Siri Home app Client with IP address ('192.168.xx..xx', 50037) appears incompatible with this version of homekit. It attempted to connect to Bridge HomeKitLink Bridge 862371 and this connection failed to verify.
Just one device out of a dozen! weird right? (and of course, out of all the devices, it had to be my wife's, the automation skeptic in the house.). Anyone know how I can fix this?

There are a few threads on that messaging.

Essentially that device is not running compatible Home software with your system.

Check the IP and find the device.
May be limit as to its end iOS version it can upgrade to, below OS18 incompatible with OS18 and above systems (yours and now everyone’s)

If it is an unused device for Home App - disable the Home App completely within it to remove the messaging.

Alternatively:
If you have just updated everything and the device is uptodate OS26 - then I would expect this would be a one off messaging - that will resolve when it recompletes its key exchange security.
