HKLS doesn't work after computer restart

Post by JonathanKing »

Hi,

I am running 0.6.61 on Indigo 2024.1 on a Mac Mini with Sequoia 15.2. HKLS works great generally, however when I reboot my computer HKLS almost always fails to work initially. The log doesn't seem to show any failures. If I Reload the plugin from the GUI menu, about 1/2 the time it starts working right away. The other half requires another reload. Is this a known issue? How can I troubleshoot it?

Thanks,

No, not working half the time is not a known issue. :D

It will relate to your install somehow, as no one else is seeing this.

You really have not given many/any details here to help.
Fails to work - means what exactly?

Nothing in the log ?
Does the Bridge start up - or is there an error message or failure to start ?

HLKS Plugin Debug logging - may show you what it is, if on the plugin side (eg. published device yet to exist as starting up)

Or alternatively could be a large range of options from:
Computer/Mac not having a static IP address and advertising needing to be updated which can take time on reboot
Other plugins yet to start - and attempts to publish states that don’t exist as yet HLKS will not like.

Have released 0.6.72 or so to Plugin Store. Has a fix for Garage door in a stopped state. Very unlikely that would be issue here though.

Thank you Glenn, I'll review this hopefully tomorrow and get back to you. I will say that it wasn't an issue in the past, and became a consistent issue just in the past few months. I wasn't paying enough attention at the time to realize the pattern so am not sure what may have changed to cause it.
