Error logging into MyQ server

Post by hensed »

At about 1:20pmPST I got this message:

Code: Select all

MyQ Warning Error logging into MyQ server: Error requesting data from https://partner-identity.myq-cloud.com/connect/token: 401 - Unauthorized
Since that time I have not been able to control the garage door thru Indigo plugin. The app works still, and my credentials are still working for MyQ.

That's MyQ messing with unauthorized clients again. There's no current open issues on the backend library, and no updates, so there's nothing I can do.

I've started to see that error now. It was working just fine until today.

Yep, me too. Unfortunately, it's the cost of doing business with an unauthorized client.

I am still getting the Error logging into MyQ server. This is giving me a security issue because I have an action group which closes my garage door every night. This no longer works as of a couple of weeks ago.

MyQ does not have an official API. This plugin works using a reverse-engineered library which MyQ manages to break regularly. I'm monitoring the library development, and it looks like there's a fix coming soon (days, not weeks). Until then, there's nothing I can do about it.

If this is truly a security issue for you, you should install sensors on the door so you can send yourself an alert to manually close the door when needed.

If you're brave, you can use an unreleased patch to the MyQ library to address this issue. In Terminal on the Indigo server system, do:

Code: Select all

pip3 uninstall pymyq
pip3 install git+https://github.com/arraylabs/pymyq.git@refs/pull/188/head
It seems to work on my system.

You will also need to update to plugin version 2022.0.4.

You need the developer tools (Xcode) installed in order to build the library.

Sorry, I updated the Plugin to Version 2022.0.4 & I am still receiving the Error Message. Here's my Indigo Version 2023.1.0 Log:

"Starting plugin "MyQ 2022.0.4" (pid 11919)
Started plugin "MyQ 2022.0.4"
MyQ Starting MyQ
MyQ 1-Car Garage Door Opener LOCKED GREEN ON = CLOSED & UNLOCKED RED OFF = OPEN: Starting myqOpener Device 1501173758
MyQ Garage 3-Car Left Door Opener LOCKED GREEN ON = CLOSED & UNLOCKED RED OFF = OPEN: Starting myqOpener Device 761454836
MyQ Garage 3-Car Right Door Opener LOCKED GREEN ON = CLOSED & UNLOCKED RED OFF = OPEN: Starting myqOpener Device 852342143
MyQ Warning Error logging into MyQ server: Error requesting data from https://partner-identity.myq-cloud.com/connect/token: 401 - Unauthorized"

I did not do the Terminal Commands that were listed above as that looked like it caused additional Errors which I would not know how to fix myself. Please help. Note that MyQ still works fine on my iPhone; so, I know my Login is still working fine.

2022.0.4 is not enough on it's own. You HAVE to do the terminal commands to get the correct version of the mypyq library.
