Your Masquerade device should be an on/off sensor, not a value sensor. Value sensors don't have an on/off state.

Aha that's working now. I'd tried that earlier but Occupatum didn't recognise it in the list so I thought it must not recognise that type! Thanks
Computer says no.

Occupatum pretty much only recognizes on/off sensors.

Masquerade Plugin

Post by berkinet »

Masquerade: On/Off SensorDevice
The device has the following states:

Code: Select all

states :
     brightnessLevel : 100 (integer)
     brightnessLevel.ui : 100 (string)
     onOffState : on (on/off bool)
     onOffState.ui : on (string)
What I want to do is create a virtual Power On/Off device with the inverse state. If I select onOffState as the State to Masquerade the Masquerade device is always On. Selecting Reverse match logic has no effect.

Instead, I chose a Dimmer Device , using brightnessLevel as the State to Masquerade , selected Reverse scaling, and that works.

So, no real problem, I have the functionality I wanted. But, I am wondering why the simpler On/Off SensorDevice didn't work.

Well, I would have to see a debug log showing both device state changes to figure out what's going on. It's possible the Phidget plugin isn't behaving properly.

I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow, and have surgery the week I get back. I wouldn't be able to look at this again for probably three weeks,

Enjoy your vacation, and take care of yourself. This is by no means a pressing matter. In fact, getting it to work as I expected instead of as how I worked around the issue would change nothing in my setup.
