How does updating work?

If I make a change to a published device (e.g. change the device's Homekit name), how do I get the change to actually show up in Home app?

Hi

If you are changing the HomeKit device name you would be better to just change it in the HomeKit app (this allows editing and changing type of some simple
Devices eg switch/fan/light) on whatever device you are using.

If making other changes - device type etc - best to unpublish device, save within plug-in: Check device is gone from HomeKit - typically disappears in a few seconds and then save to read with changes.

HomeKit does a fair amount of caching so the above is the safest approach.
