I now have the suspition that the "FINGBOX" (physical little round blue device you connect to your network) is the culprit for my internet connection problems.
Every time I connect it, I have problems: ping has 50% drop rate to external ip numbers. As soon as I disconnect and reboot modem everything is back to normal.

Just a warning if you consider buying this. There might be some issues with it. It claims that it can exclude some devices from accessing the network as an option .. there might be some bugs in that feature.. -- actually I have no clue how they would do this without spoofing the routers mac number internally or claiming to be the network access point ..

I have a fingbox, and I haven't noticed any difference in network bandwidth or stability.

Contact their support team, and work with them. They have been extremely cooperative and have been working with everyone to resolve any issues they have seen.

I plan to work up a fingbox plugin as soon as they release their API (coming soon).

They are updating the firm ware to rectify. That will also require a reboot of the router. That leaves me with some doubts about the box in general. What is it doing

I've never had to reboot my router for any reason in the last 3-6 months. And I've definitely never had to reboot it due to the fingbox. And I was a backer and received my Fingbox with the first wave of deliveries.

I've bookmarked the review of it, the actual behind the scenes is later in the video.

In a nutshell fingbox is sending a DHCP packet to the blocked device that is telling it that the fingbox is the gateway, every 30 seconds or so. So, the device in question can't get out to the internet. The packets are small enough that the impact on the network should be non-existent, and no other devices should be aware of this.

It works. And doesn't require the other devices to be configured to use the Fingbox (and thus be easily configured around the blocking).

Can you send me the link to the Cloud API? I haven't heard of it, but it might be useable.

I have not yet seen any supported API's for the Fingbox.

I was looking at the FingKit SDK and Cloud APIs upon further investigation both of which won't help here as far as I can see.
