Have you updated the Airfoil plugin to support Airfoil 5 which was announced today, yet?

Speaker Groups and Bluetooth support are the new features in a nutshell.

The current plugin works with Airfoil 5 with the exception of speaker groups and bluetooth speakers. I believe everything else works fine - so basically everything that worked in Airfoil 4 continues to work.

We'll be talking more about our future Airfoil plans soon...

Looks like bluetooth speakers are also a problem. This may not be something we can address for a while.

So having a fun day here after upgrading my perfectly working 10.8.5 machine to 10.9.5 today, as to update to Airfoil 5.. Airfoil will now not update the speaker variables in Indigo, tried reverting to Airfoil V4 and no go either way, after multiple reboots.

Everything else seems works but this (except for IndigoPlotD not wanting to find gnuplot. ) the variable that shows the speakers connected changes appropriately, of course I use the volume variables in my control pages, so this is a major issue.

Only 1 instance of airfoil on the machine at a time.

On top of this OS X now hangs for about 2 min after boot as well before it becomes responsive, console log filled with errors..

I've just ordered a 1 TB SSD for this machine and will do a clean install of 10.9 (and everything else) and assume these issues resolve.

Any suggestions whilst I wait on Amazon? Other than if it ain't broke don't fix it?

It would make adjusting volume for groups a lot easier than adjusting each speaker in the group.

The problem with bluetooth speakers will be fixed in the next dot release (6.1.8). Group support will have to wait until Indigo 7 and the new Airfoil Pro plugin.

Really looking forward to this. I’ve now got 9 rooms in my house and my garden wired up with various different speakers, i’m looking forward to having a control page to manage it all (i already kinda have one with variables and what not but it sounds like this will give a more stable and expansive feature set )

Couple of questions related to Bluetooth, for the purpose of using with Airfoil.

1. Anyone know of a way to boost the range of Bluetooth? Looked around for something like a BT booster, but no joy.

2. Anyone know of a plug-in BT speaker, i.e. UK plug with a BT speaker attached? I've the perfect spot for one. Doesn't even need to sound great - just want to use it for notifications.

I use a couple of Cambridge Audio speakers that are designed to have a TV sat on top of them.

They are Bluetooth, although after 30 mins of no audio they shutdown and require a IR remote to wake them up again.

So not much use for your purpose I suspect

They sound great though
