Airfoil not able to connect to any speakers

Hi!

Since today noon I've that problem - and I had not changed anything. Today morning everything has worked as it should.

AS shows the correct speaker list, plugin 1.1.9, AirFoil 4.9.1, Indigo 6.1.4, Mac OS 10.11. Disabling and deleting the plugin's prefs didn't make any change, also tried several reboots of the whole system. The plugin always reports "No speakers available".

I'm not sure what's going on with your setup. Try this: toggle debugging on, then restart the plugin and copy/paste the results into a reply.

Our testing on 10.11 and Airfoil 4.9.1 has revealed what I believe is a bug in Airfoil around application audio sources. I've contacted them so we'll see what happens. It manifests itself as a repeated error message in the Event Log every second or two. If you are using Airfoil and Indigo, I recommend that you not upgrade to 10.11 until we can work out what's going on.

Forgot to mention: I updated to AirFoil 4.9.1 yesterday afternoon AFTER the problem occurred as I hoped that would solve the problem. Before it was AirFoil 4.8.?

For not upgrading to 10.11 it's too late, done so already.

Make sure you only have one copy of the Airfoil application on your hard drive.

Also, your debug logging doesn't look right - can you confirm that you're running Indigo 6.1.4 and the plugin version 1.1.9?

Already noticed that in the other thread and checked that yesterday locally on the MacMini which is running AirFoil and Indigo Server and found nothing. Just checked now via AFP access with PathFinder from my MacPro and guess what: Found 4.9.1 twice AND the 4.8.13 running before also twice (damned Gremlins...)! Cleaned up that mess and now everything works. Thanks for your support and getting me to search again. I'm a happy camper now.

Overseen that, yes I'm running Indigo 6.1.4 and plugin 1.1.9.

Yeah, a previous change to debugging altered the debug output in a strange way. I'll fix it in an upcoming release.
