Re: piBeacon: 2- creating the SSD and configuring the rPi
The text needs to be updated... Bookworm appears not to be able to use the internal UART for beacon detection on Pi3Bs as well as not working on the Pi0W. I had an ethernet connected Pi3B running Bullseye using the internal UART for beacon detection that I updated to Bookworm, and it immediately sto...

Re: Daily "Beginning prune of ..." log entries
I am really not a database expert; my abilities consist of opening the server and querying information by indigo ID... Question: is the prune retroactive? I only noticed that the prune option was not checked after I ran into an issue in Postgres where indigo variables that I created were not being a...

Re: GhostXML and PostgreSQL
Turning off the disable SQL fixed it... Thanks. And once upon a time long ago, I did use the weather link, but as I recall, it actually queried the Davis cloud database that the console was exporting rather than accessing the local station and our internet was a bit unreliable.

GhostXML and PostgreSQL
Why do GhostXML "devices" not post to the Postgres data base? I use GhostXML to query my local Davis weather station's API, which I query query every 5 minutes with http://<IP of Station>/v1/current_conditions and get back : {"data":{"did":"001D0A71869D","...

Re: piBeacon: 7- tested Beacons
VERY strange; apparently the power flickers we had earlier this week trashed it. when I put a keyboard and screen on it, the microSD card was trashed and would not reflash... So I flashed a new one and brought it back up; it came up to the correct IP, but a different MAC, which made no sense... I ha...

Re: piBeacon: 7- tested Beacons
Maybe related, but I just noted that in the log, when I enabled the search for all beacons, I got piBeacon Error ''Plugin' object has no attribute 'debugRPI'' makeParametersFile @line 19395: 'if pi == self.debugRPI: out["debugRPI"] = 1' piBeacon Error ''Plugin' object has no attribute 'deb...

Re: piBeacon: 7- tested Beacons
Possible bug in v2022.174.89... I bought a 4 pack of Nutale Nutfinder 3x a year ago and used 2 of them with no problems. One of them just died (run through the washing machine actually) and I attempted to replace it with one of the remaining ones... even set to accept all signal strenghts and all ma...

Re: TP-Link Tapo plugin
I may hack the Kasa plugin to save the MAC address of the of the device as a state, and if I get ambitious provide an option to manually have it search IPs for the MAC like it does by port when adding new devices... Angry IP Scanner does a fairly good job of finding them all, so once I run a sweep a...

Re: TP-Link Tapo plugin
I have been using the TP-Link KASA plugin for a couple of years at my sisters to control half a dozen smart bulbs and 8 remote switches as well as a couple of mini plugs... the system works reasonably well with one notable glitch; the Kasa App only lists MAC addresses while the Indigo plugin only s...

Re: Devices are not appearing in the new version v7.4.1
My mistake; my indigo database is named "My House (v7.4.1)" (which shows how long I have been running indigo)... Devices all showed fine in 2022.1, but after the Indigo update aren't appearing... I think I am running Ventura 13.3.1. I'll have to check on the Remote Display flag, although i...

Devices are not appearing in the new version v7.4.1
Is anyone able to see the Devices in the new web interface? Mine seems to ignore the "Name contiains" box and while Actions, Variables, Pages and Logs all work as expected, Devices shows no items.

Re: piBeacon Error after upgrade to 2022.160.16
Finally got a chance to look at the actual code; the relevant portions (still present in 2022.160.19) is and the failure occurs in the elif apparently for nonBLE devices that are not sensors: if dev.deviceTypeId in ["rPI","rPI-Sensor","beacon","BLEconnect"]: f...

Re: It's dead, Jim
I have been moving stuff from Insteon to Z-Wave and KASA for some time as switches and sensors die... the only thing that I CAN'T find a replacement for are the 8 button controllers that fit in a single switch box. Does anyone build some kind of equivalent in any other protocol that I have missed?
