Ok - thanks to kw123 and evansgo I think we might be getting a lot closer.

So a few ramblings just so you know what I'm doing to resolve it.

There are a couple of odd things that are going on which would have odd impacts.

• The first is that the plugin is still processing 'Inactive' devices even though they're trapped out. Clearly I've missed an instance where this should be checked properly. That I think I've found.
  
  The second is that if the phone is 'offline' for a period of time (maybe just a single update cycle), it loses the 'heartbeat' of the cycle and then fails to update properly again until a reload forces an update. I think that's because it hasn't recognised that a particular device wasn't read on the last cycle and, because of the automatic restart of indigo when a plug in crashes, it never actually gets onto the next device and keeps trying the old one. Of course it can't connect and so gives the impression that your device isn't being updated when in reality it's another device in the account that's causing the problem.
  
  I'm going to investigate these issues tonight and I'll keep you all in the loop.

One quick wee issue.. if you create a new device it doesn't show up on the option for 'Plot single device on google maps' until after you restart the plugin.

Also on the topic of PNG icons of the maps, it'd be pretty awesome if this could be done for inserting into control pages. Ideally i'd love the ability to specify the exact dimensions of the image, the scale of it and the icons superimposed upon it to indicate the users location, etc.

Hi All

I've updated the Beta to version 0.5.04 which contains a number of fixes in an attempt to resolve the no update issue that you've reported. I'd be grateful if you could test and leave me any comments, log output on issues or otherwise so I can continue updates/resolutions in the morning. I've got the update on overnight test but I thought that some of you would appreciate the latest version for testing.

It should be no longer necessary - everything should update as you install as I haven't changed any device structures.

If you get an issue (which I really don't think you will) then you may have to restart with adding the devices again - but I can't think you'll have too.

Once agan, many thanks for creating this. So many excellent 3rd party plugins/devs to what is already an excellent application. So glad I went with Indigo, and I was seriously considering the Fibaro Centre Lite - over a year and still no sign of the battery and GSM add-on modules. I would be extremely annoyed waiting for that by now.

I stared with the Fibaro HCL system and realised after 6 months out wasn't worth the hype. Each day I read the forum and it's just not getting any better. Like the Fibaro kit tho I've got sensors, dimmers, less, etc and they work well. Indigo is a great system - solid, well supported and a good crowd.

A little idea has come to mind, is it possible to have different icons for different Devices when show on a map, I know if you hover over the "Smartphone" icon it says the name of the device, just thought a separate icon may look nice, likewise with the Fences.

I still haven't found out how to put a refreshing map in a control page yet, any help there would be appreciated,

That's a great idea. Actually I thought - that's a difficult problem but then having thought about it over coffee I don't think it would be that difficult to achieve. We'd have to limit the size of the icons to around 80x80 pixels but apart from that it would be ok to code - and a nice to have feature. Give me a day or two

I'm working on the maps feature. The issue is that Indigo can't display a refreshing HTML file and needs a refreshing PNG image. I think I know how to do it using the Google Maps API but I've got to experiment. Leave it with me.

Good news from my point of view is that I've been running the plugin for over 24 hours and really tried to push it out of sync but version 0.5.05 seems to work ok even if the phone is disconnected for a while. My daughters phone was offline for 12 hours and then immediately came back into the cycle when she started charging it... It's also ignoring inactive devices as well now. Looks like I need to watch the error trapping hiding certain bugs

BTW - I don't look for donations from Indigo users. Other Home Automation groups that's a different matter Some encouraging words are always welcome tho. Actually I benefit from the work that others have done so I'm happy to return the favour especially as I enjoy doing it.

Hi Mike,

I may have found a little bug, I have added another iTunes Account to the Plugin (Father in Laws) when I go to add a device under his account credentials all of mine are in the drop down menu,

Hi Mike,

The plugin updated correctly when I entered my work geofence this morning. Checked the event logs and it occurred at the time I did in fact enter the geofence. Only thing I've noticed is this message in the logs.
