2012 Airport Express - syslog issue

Post by cjp767 »

I have the 2012 version of the Airport Express. I can see that SNMP is selected (using an old version of the Airport Utility). Unfortunately the syslog lists the wireless clients as IP address (example: 10.0.1.21) and not MAC address (example: ac:fd:xx:39:xx:95) like the other Airport devices. I was going to add an additional smartphone with the IP address format, but the Configure Smartphone window will only allow the MAC address to be added.

Would you consider allowing an IP address to be added in addition to the MAC address for Airport Routers? I would, of course, need to add some logic in Indigo---- both "iphoneMACaddress" and "iphoneIPaddress" would have to be Away for me to trigger the phone to really be Away.

OR, does anyone have other ideas? Probably ebay and get an older Airport Express that uses the MAC format. thanks!
