Nope, Apple are very restrictive on what can be displayed on CarPlay (and with good reason, the amount of idiots I see driving around watching videos on their cars screens is ridiculous). Most I can suggest is have your messages sent via iMessage and have Siri read them out to you.

Apple -does- now allow third party 'communication' apps on CarPlay including messaging apps - WhatsApp for instance. CarPlay notifications from enabled apps are managed under Notification settings.
But the CarPlay approval criteria appear to require ability to both receive and compose messages (and only via Siri). I guess Prowl and other notification apps are one-way and fail that test. Seems an arbitrary distinction really...

alternately I think there are python libraries around for sending WhatsApp messages.
