The solution I posted above will work. You can use any messaging method you want, and the "corrective action" will just need to be an Action Group ID as a parameter in the query string.,

Dave, I get the curl commands but can you execute an Action Group with a clickable link in an email?

If it were me, I'd use Shortcuts. If that's not an option for you (for example, if you have a user on Android) then I'd take a look at using a "mailto" link with the Email+ plugin.
