Jay or Matt any idea what is going on?
The plugin is marked red in the plugin menu, noticed unresponsive devices (shutters), then I restarted it and now I keep getting this error
Plugin not restarting
Re: Plugin not restarting
I guess you can not restart the indigo server?
That should resolve any dead threads that might create this.
And local mac screen sharing does not work?

Re: Plugin not restarting
Yes I could be able to do it (restart the indigo server).
Regarding screen sharing, the default Mac OS screen sharing does not connect to the macmini running indigo, using the IP, but this is something I always used when not at home

Re: Plugin not restarting
When you are on a local mac through screen sharing then do screen sharing with the indigo mac.MarcoGT wrote:Yes I could be able to do it (restart the indigo server).

Plugin not restarting
I am trying to do screen sharing remotely via VPN; indigo client can connect to indigo server, but screen sharing is not working…weird
Is there an action (via python) to reboot the indigo server? Not the Mac mini

Re: Plugin not restarting
I guess you are out of options.
No ssh
No screen sharing
No reboot action group
No anydesk

Re: Plugin not restarting
I've read through the entirety of this topic a couple of times and I think I've lost the thread. So let me summarize what my understanding is currently:
1) Whenever you restart the shellyDirect plugin you get the error that the embedded script executor gets hung up.
2) macOS screen sharing isn't working over your VPN connection.
3) You can connect (over VPN) a remote Mac client to the Indigo Server.
4) You need to reboot the Mac but you can't given the limited access.
Am I missing anything in this recap?
My thoughts given this set of facts:
1) The embedded script executor is an IndigoPluginHost3 process that is used to execute all embedded scripts. Given that it's hanging up whenever you try to restart the shellyDirect plugin, my first thought is that you have some embedded script that's trying to communicate with the shellyDirect plugin and it's causing the process to hang up. Network connections within embedded scripts can do this, but I'm not sure if that's the case here.
2) This seems like a systemic macOS issue without any relation to Indigo, particularly given that you can
3) use a remote Mac to connect and present the Indigo UI.
4) Since you disabled SSH, I'm not sure there's going to be a workaround. You can issue shell commands from Python, but since you have to do the reboot as root I don't think that's going to work.

Re: Plugin not restarting
Thanks Jay!
1) I do not have any embedded script pointing to this plugin, only triggers and schedules
Is it possible to build any action to restart only the indigo server (not the mini)?
Yes I think that the not working screen sharing has nothing to do with the problem I am having but something on top

Re: Plugin not restarting
So I disabled the triggers and schedules using this plugin, restarted it, but nothing changed.
I think I have to wait till I have physical access to the Mac running Indigo

for the next time:

once setup on your indigo system you can remotely reboot your indigo MAC server using just Indigo touch executing this action
