I dont see how to say: Install 2.2.0 and port the triggers over to the new sensors 2.2.0 creates.
Sorry if I’m dense...but how can I update to 2.2.0 w/o losing all; my triggers?
I'm confused. You have a working 2.1.7 system with an Ecobee and some number of remote sensors, right? If you upgrade the plugin to 2.2.0 and don't delete or create any devices, does it work?
Because I just tried that. I installed 2.1.7 on my development server, authenticated it, created a thermostat (which included one remote sensor), then created triggers for each device (thermostat, occupancy sensor, remote sensor). Then I upgraded to 2.2.0. As far as I can tell, all devices and triggers are intact.
If you have added a remote that was not present in the 2.1.7 system, you should be able to add just that one remote. Without touching any of the existing devices.
