Pentair Intellitouch Plugin

Plugins that users have built. NOTE: plugins that were developed for Indigo versions older than 2022.1 will have to be updated to work with Indigo 2022.1 (Python 3 - see this blog post for details). If the plugin listed here is not in the Plugin Store (which will show updated plugins) then you will need to ask on the appropriate thread below if it has been updated and where you get get the update.

Re: Pentair Intellitouch Plugin

Post by Alain »

Hi - It's been a while since the last post in this thread. My Autelis is not doing well, and getting a new one does not seem like it's an option. They have been "Out of Stock" for like a couple of years now.

What are people doing for interfacing? Back to iLink? Anything newer available?

Thanks
Alain

Are there any smarts in that iLink box or is it just taking the 4 wires out from Pentair and connecting them to the serial connector? Seems like a lot of money for that box.

It converts from their internal protocol to RS-232. So it's not a simple circuit connection.

hi all...

my Autelis must have taken a power spike and I need to try re-flashing the firmware. Unfortunately, it seems the Autelis wiki pages are down:(

does anyone have the firmware file(s) I believe there were 2 AND the flash utility saved somewhere that they can share?

Thanx in advance!

I only have the Jandy files.

Here is the customer service email, hopefully they can help you out.

Let me know if you find anything on the Autellis box. Mine seems dead too (also from a power spike).

So it seems that Autellis is out of business, at least for the time being. I bought a Pentair control panel last spring and after I got it installed, only THEN did I find out that Autellis was closed. I've been holding off on buying the associated hardware to connect to Indigo from Pentair since its soooo $$$, but will probably pull the trigger on that over the summer if Autellis doesn't come back to life.

Oh shoot:(

Hopefully one of us managed to save the firmwares and the flash utility:(

If so, it would be appreciated if anyone that has the pentair ones can share:)

BTW if anyone has a new/used Autelis device for Pentair EasyTouch they would like to sell, let me know. Had I known they were out of business, I would have went a different route for pool controls... :(

Still hoping they will resurrect soon, so have been putting off buying the more expensive solution...

It's a real pain. My Autelis box is dying. I needed to find a solution too.

In the end, you don't need it.

I don't plan on moving away from Indigo, but there are two ways to integrate the Intellitouch brick into Home Assistant (with no other boxes, just communicating over IP with the Pentair brick). Someone better at coding than me could do whatever they did with Home Assistant to integrate it into Indigo (the same way they did it with Home Assistant - one of the ways they do it is with MQTT).

The workaround I am almost done implementing is: I have started running Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi, and used a Home Assistant integration that talks directly to the Pentair brick from Home Assistant. Works really well on its own. I have now written python scripts for actions and statuses within Indigo to talk to Home Assistant using Home Assistant's REST API. So in a way, the Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant "replaces" the Autelis box (but the Raspberry Pi talks to the Pentair brick over the LAN, not over a serial connection). Quite a workaround, I know. Might have been better off figuring out how to talk to the brick directly from Indigo.

Happy to share specifics if anyone is interested.

I'm using the Pentair serial interface (iLink). Seems to work fine.

Probably my next step. I've just heard they were more expensive and somewhat "delicate" in terms of durability. Still hoping Autelis will come up for air soon...

Expensive, yeah. Don't know about delicate. I had more problems with the serial interface for my alarm system. I had to use a ground isolator for that one.
