Is there anyway to get Indigo to work with a SmartLinc 2412N?

Re: SmartLinc 2412N
It is our (SmartHome's) goal to provide a pass-through mode for the SmartLinc Controller so that if Ethernet data is sent to Port x-x-x-x of the SmartLinc, those signals would just be passed through the SmartLinc Ethernet daughter board to the PowerLinc Modem main board. This ability and Matt's support to have Indigo speak "PLM" is about a year away. When this happens, I expect Matt and his software to be the first to support itkauihou wrote:Is there anyway to get Indigo to work with a SmartLinc 2412N?

Hi John,

And for everyone else, note that Indigo will likely support the USB PLM, which is not the Ethernet based SmartLinc John is talking about, much sooner. The USB PowerLinc PLM is their power line modem that works like the PowerLinc 2414U but does not have an internal timer or ability to run standalone. It does, however, have the ability to send extended data commands which will improve the performance of link management and add the ability to send some extended data-only commands.
This probably will not be in version 4.0, but supporting the PowerLinc PLM is a high priority.
Sounds good to me.jlockyer wrote:I expect Matt and his software to be the first to support it

Re: SmartLinc 2412N
We are still working towards this goal. We are up to the point of internal testing with HouseLinc software. I think the feature will be introduced the beginning next year.skidblad wrote:Any update regarding support for 2412N?

Nope -- no new news or developments.
Re: SmartLinc 2412N
I see in this posting that the raw PLM protocol is accessible on the 2412N's TCP Port 9761. This would make the port equivalent to the 2412S, just a TCP/IP connection instead of serial. Is there any reason this couldn't be implemented?

Re: SmartLinc 2412N
Adding support for it is on our list, but at this time it isn't a high priority.
Unfortunately, I think what most users expect out of 2412N support in Indigo isn't just a network based PLM, but they want Indigo to support uploading logic/timers to it for standalone operation (and/or remote Indigo Touch access without their Mac running/awake) which is quite a different and more complex feature.

Re: SmartLinc 2412N
I am very interested in a networked PLM solution as it would allow me to place the controller near my breaker box while keeping my Mac mini in my closet upstairs.
Re: SmartLinc 2412N
Any update? I figured I'd get the smartlinc to replace my dead powerlinc because my needs are simple, but come to find out that they aren't as simple as the smartlinc. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: SmartLinc 2412N
No updates. It is still on our list but there are several higher priority items above it. I'm not sure when, or if, we'll get to 2412N support.
