Lost connection

For no apparent reason, the hue hub has ceased to function. Reloading the plug-in results int the following event log message:
Started plugin "Hue Lights 2022.17.60"
Hue Lights debug areas:[]
Hue Lights bridge lights groups scenes users resources Active/rules schedules Physicl/sensors ZigBChanl hostIds / user names ------------------- ip Numbers ---- BridgeIds-------
Hue Lights Warning #0 ; ipNumber:192.168.3.35 --- not properly setup, no data received from bridge, try to re-pair
Hue Lights Warning pluginPrefs IP#s: {"0": "192.168.3.35"}, ..hostIDs: {"0": "lxGOJanQohGNFPn0demgAoo602vz0GsxbKJN6o1T"}
Hue Lights Warning self.ipNumbers: {'0': '192.168.3.35'} self.hostIds:{'0': 'lxGOJanQohGNFPn0demgAoo602vz0GsxbKJN6o1T'}, paired:{'0': False}
Hue Lights ... initialized
Using Configure, my attempt to restore the hub and pressing the bridge button results in the following event log message:
Attempting to pair with the Hue bridge at "192.168.3.35".
Hue Lights Warning Unable to pair with the Hue bridge. Press the center button on the Hue bridge, then click the "Pair Now" button.
After reloading the plub-in, in the device panel, the hue device shows a normal state for 2-3 minutest, followed by "deleted", with the additional error message, "Device not defined on bridge".
Perhaps the bridge has failed? - it is at least 5 years old, - maybe more like 10.

The router shows that the IP address is associated with the vendor, Philips Hue.
