Disable routing of device

I have a device which changes position frequently. Now I want to avoid that it is used for routing signals or that it does routing to neighbors that aren't there. Especially the first point I need to make it stop since some other devices act strange if the device is nearby or not.

How can I do this?

The Z-Wave->Optimize Z-Wave Network... menu command is pretty much the only tool in the toolbox for this. You can just query the neighbor nodes around that particular module and it will hopefully clean-up the routing both for that node and all of its previous neighbors. The Z-Wave Controller API doesn't really provide control over how routing is setup outside of telling a module to try to re-discover what its neighbors are.

I use the sensor on a robot. Can I disable routing over this sensor? Basically act like a battery powered device.

I'm not aware of any Z-Wave command to enable/disable routing.
