Trigger question

So I have a trigger that waits for a device to be turned on (a light). There are no conditions on the trigger but there are actions. After the light has been on for a defined period of time, it will then turn on another device. There is a delay of 5 minutes and an auto off after 5. However, if the light is turned off before that defined period of time, then the delay of 5 minutes never comes since the second trigger removes the first.

Here is the question, is the delay of 5 minutes and the auto off after 5 minutes causing the issue where the second device doesn't turn off after 5 minutes?

Re: Trigger question

I'm not exactly following the setup here. Can you specify in more detail how both Triggers are defined?

Re: Trigger question

Both are on the same Aeotec dual nano switch. See attached for the triggers.

Re: Trigger question

I'm getting closer, but still not totally following your description. So does the auto-off correctly work, but only if the initial light isn't turned off?

Can you capture examples of it failing (and working if it works in some cases) in the Event Log. That will definitely help give a clearer picture as to what Indigo is doing (and when).

Re: Trigger question

If the light is turned off before 5 minutes, I do not want an action to take place. If the light is on for more than 5 minutes, then I want fan to turn on. This works. What doesn't work is that it doesn't turn off after even though Auto-off is selected with a value of 0:10:00 in the trigger that turned it on. Attached is the action for the trigger.

Re: Trigger question

I do think it is your Remove Delayed Actions that is causing the auto-off to be deleted. I'd suggest you take a look at using a Timer instead – it will give you more granular control over stopping and resetting.

Re: Trigger question

Thanks, I'll give this a try.

One suggestion though, in the documentation:
https://wiki.indigodomo.com/doku.php?id=indigo_7_documentation:plugins:timersandpesters

You might want to make sure that it Timers and Pesters plugin is enabled; otherwise the options to configure it are not there.
