Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

HAs anyone else experienced any issues using the latest update and the Garage Door Opener? Several times it seems to go No Ack. Sometimes I can just resync and it fixes it but tonight that isn't working and I may need to remove it and Add it back in

Indigo v7.0.3 is now available and includes support for the Z-Wave Linear GD00Z-4 garage door controller.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

What is the expected behavior in 7.0.3? I sync with encryption, the device is discovered and sync'd. The status always says "on", and when I press the "off" button, nothing happens. However, if I press the "on" button, the unit does the beeping as expected. If I lower and raise the door with the actual garage door button, the status never changes in Indigo, and I don't think I see an update message in the logs.

Does the "off" button actually do anything?

Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

In summary .. non-rambling a day later:

1. My stuff sat for so long, I think the tilt sensor and main unit lost pairing.
2. I re-paired the tilt sensor and main unit per the instructions below
3. I paired the main unit with Indigo, per the instruction above, using encryption in Indigo.

Those steps make it so I can open and close the unit via Indigo, but the status/state NEVER changes unless I am doing a status request. The status request is accurate, as it reports the state of either open, closed, opening, or closing.

Things I noticed that are puzzling, and potentially buggy:

1. The Edit Device Settings option does not show any real options, UNLESS I try a re-sync and define a second time (even though the unit was working). After this, I now have an option to adjust polling frequency, even though it doesn't appear to be working.

Reset process:

1.) Reset the GD00Z-4 controller to factory
- press the pairing button 5 times
2.) Pair the Tilt Sensor if in doubt
- install tilt sensor
- hold controller button for 7'ish seconds until it beeps
- open garage door and unit should beep/flash as door opens
3.) Close garage door
4.) Pair GD00Z-4 Controller with Indigo (encrypted)
5.) Open garage
6.) Close garage
7.) Status requests now work, but only if I ask for them.

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Copy/paste the Event Log window results into a reply post showing a re-sync of the device as well as you open/closing the garage door a couple of times from Indigo.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

Define & Sync output for the device (It was already sync'd, and had the extra "polling option" at this point.) If You want to see a fresh process, I can do that as well.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

Yours seems to be responding to commands but, despite Indigo adding an association for group 1 back to the Z-Stick, it isn't broadcasting out barrier status changed commands as the door transitions between states.

I wonder if this is a firmware difference and your version doesn't support that. Based on your log you have version 1.02. I'm not sure what version other users have.

Can other folks on this thread that have their GD00Z working check the version number shown in the device settings dialog?

Bummer! If that turns out to be the issue, I wonder if I can upgrade the version :) I may contact Linear.

My GD00Z-4 reports "Garage Door Controller (NGD00Z), firmware 2.00" Running Indigo 7 on a headless Mac Mini late 2012; 2.3 ghz i7; 16g memory model 6,2. Security Spy 4 (7 cameras) is also running on that machine.

Running Indigo 2023.2 on a 24" iMac M1), OS X 14.4

I think this definitely justifies a contact to Linear for detail. Im hopeful its a field upgradeable firmware, but I am not optimistic.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Linear GD00Z-4 GD00Z-4 Z-Wave Garage Door Op

Mine is actually a GD-00Z-1, and reports firmware version 1.01. It only has ON and OFF states.
I'm still on 7.0.2. Will 7.0.3 change my status reports?
