Heatmiser Netmonitor plugin 0.0.1

This is likely only relevant to a small group of UK automators but if you happen to own a heatmiser 12v wired system with a netmonitor attached then this plugin might be useful to you. Via your netmonitor this plugin will find all your thermostats and automatically create them in Indigo. Moreover it will distinguish between thermostats with and without hot water capability (e.g. between the PRT-NTS and PRTHW-NTS).

The plugin will:

- regularly update Indigo with the temperatures in each zone
- provide support to increase/decrease/set the heating set point
- expose a custom action to toggle the hot water for a period of time
- define custom properties so you can query programmatically for heating/water status

There are some caveats:
- Any set actions executed via Indigo may be over-riden in the future by the thermostats own schedule.
- Schedules and Holiday mode cannot be configured via this module (although I provide a menu item link to the netmonitor directly)

I should also mention that through writing this plugin I learnt that the security on these netmonitor devices is very poor. This is great for writing a plugin but knowing what I know now I would *never* expose port 80 of my netmonitor to the outside world. The user/password combination can be easily sidestepped.

The plugin can be found at: https://github.com/KieranBroadfoot/Heat ... digoPlugin

There are likely bugs so please let me know if you find any issues.

Great addition, thanks. You never know who might need it and it just increases the value of Indigo and the community.

Does this plugin also work with this heat miser thermostat?

Sadly not. I abuse the web interface of the netmonitor to control my heatmiser installation. I believe there is an API available for the NEO range via http://www.heatmiser.com/index.php/support/custom-integration which could allow you to create your own plugin.

All the best

Re: Heatmiser Netmonitor plugin 0.0.1

Hi, I'm considering purchasing the Heatmiser NeoStat-e thermostats and a NeoHub for my new underfloor heating installation in the UK.

Does anyone know if this (or any other) plugin will work with the these systems to both monitor and control / automate my heating system from Indigo?

Many thanks in advance,

Jon

Re: Heatmiser Netmonitor plugin 0.0.1

Jon,

I can say with certainty that this particular plugin will not work with the newer Neo thermostats. As I previously mentioned Heatmiser will share the API to the new devices so it shouldn't be too hard to write.

Good luck!

Re: Heatmiser Netmonitor plugin v1.0

The TextLocal plugin has now been updated to support Indigo 7. There are no new features but it does improve reliability and logging.

thanks

v1.1 available

v1.1 is now available at https://github.com/KieranBroadfoot/Heatmiser-Netmonitor.indigoPlugin. This small release improves thermostat device compliance including support for HomeKit Bridge
