Can indigo be installed as a secondary controller in an existing zwave network?

Indigo's Z-Wave interface (Z-Stick, Z-Troller, etc.) needs to be the primary controller. Using it as a secondary controller might work, but it has not been tested and isn't officially supported at this time.

Re: indigo as secondary controller

According to the z-stick instructions

http://zwave-products.co.uk/online/temp ... ries+2.pdf

z-stick can be set up as secondary controller, but the command to do this must be given by the host software.

z-wave.me gives instructions for doing this with their software

http://en.z-wave.me/content/configuring ... -controler.

Re: indigo as secondary controller

As Matt says, it may be possible but Indigo doesn't support it now and is unlikely to when Indigo 6.0 GM ships - it's just not a high priority given everything else we need to support.

Re: indigo as secondary controller

Did anyone try to get Indigo participating in an existing Z-Wave network as a secondary controller ?

Sounds like a very useful thing to be able to do as you consider porting your existing Z-Wave system over to Indigo control, especially as Z-Wave is a new feature. I'm evaluating Indigo for this purpose but don't really want to have to reinstall every device.

Re: indigo as secondary controller

I would be interrested in Master/Secondary Controller as well. I have a Vera 1 which could be configured as a secondary controller.
Indigo would have to add it as a secondary controller. Unfortunately there is no menue function to do this.
But as I suppose this is a function of the Aeon-labs stick, there must be a raw command to do it.
Any pointers?
TIA

Re: indigo as secondary controller

I would be interested in this as well.

My remote control (Nevo-Q50) speaks Zwave but wants to be the master.

Re: indigo as secondary controller

I need this functionality as well...

I am trying to get the dreaded (but very nice designed) Merten / Schneider Connect battery operated wall controllers that are available as 1 - or 2-button controllers.

In order to get Indigo to properly show status for both buttons when using the 2-button controller I need to do the following:

1. Use the MERTEN USB Z-wave interface and its Radio Connect software where I setup all Z-wave devices
2. Then assign one of my battery controllers as the network controller Master
3. Exit the program after all devices has been written and especially one controller that now is the master
4. Move to Indigo where the Aeon Labs Z-wave USB stick is inserted. This is where Indigo should be able to replicate the Z-wave network from the master controller.

I have seen several users in Vera and Homeseer forums having success getting the 2-button controllers from Merten / Schneider Electric working properly in those softwares AND showing status for BOTH buttons.
