Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

Have it linked to indigo, But the only info I have is battery level - no reaction to any button

did:
1. remove zwave stick from mac
2. press blue button
3. put pin into key fob learn hole
4. green light blinks .. key fob
5. blue light (zwavestick) blinks.. press button
6. reconnect to indigo mac
7. add new device / wave / use node .. pick key fob .. successful.

finish.

no reaction to any button.

What am I doing wrong. whats missing?

Do I have to press one of the 4 buttons.. do it for all 4?

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

Did you follow the how to use with Indigo wiki mentioned above? It sounds like you haven't turned on the Enable scene mode for all buttons option yet.

No problem at all. There is lots of information on the site so it is easy to overlook something...

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

I am a new Indigo user and trying to set up a late Zwave system. I am having trouble configuring an Aeotec DSA22 4 button remote. I have associated it with the Z Stick and added it to Indigo. I have ticked the 'Enable scene mode for all buttons', held down one of the buttons and saved, however I am still unable to see anything other than battery level when I try to set up a trigger. Can someone please point out what I am doing wrong?

Thanks
Greg

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

What does the Event Log show (if anything) when you press a button on it?

If it shows nothing, then re-sync it again and copy/paste the Event Log results of the sync.

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

But it looks like the Event Log did show something when you pressed/held a button to wake it:

Z-Wave Debug RCVD sceneActivateCmd: 01 0A 00 04 00 02 04 2B 01 02 FF 20
Z-Wave Debug . . sceneActivateCmd: node 002, scene: 2
Z-Wave received "Key Fob - Greg" scene 2

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

That looks correct, however when I tried to press each of the four buttons I received no response. Holding down each of the four buttons gave me this following log. Note that only 2 of the buttons registered?
28 Jun 2014 9:09:10 pm
Z-Wave Debug RCVD sceneActivateCmd: 01 0A 00 04 00 02 04 2B 01 06 FF 24
Z-Wave Debug . . sceneActivateCmd: node 002, scene: 6
Z-Wave received "Key Fob - Greg" button 3 held down
Z-Wave Debug RCVD sceneActivateCmd: 01 0A 00 04 00 02 04 2B 01 01 FF 23
Z-Wave Debug . . sceneActivateCmd: node 002, scene: 1
Z-Wave received "Key Fob - Greg" button 1 pressed
Not sure what is going on?
I assume that when I try and assign a trigger for this device I should be able to select something other than battery level?

Thanks

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

In regards to the Trigger, yes, you can select button specific triggers. Instead of selecting the Device State Changed type though you need to select the type Z-Wave Event because you want to trigger on a specific incoming Z-Wave command (and not a generic state change).

I still don't understand what is going on with which buttons are working/not working though. In the above Event Log snippet you included above it looks like the button 1 press and button 3 held down commands were received. But you aren't seeing any commands from any of the other buttons? And you are using it within close range of the Z-Stick? You might try excluding it from the Z-Stick and re-adding it (then re-syncing it with Indigo). Perhaps it is just in a bad state. The other possibility is it is malfunctioning, but I've never heard of one failing like this before.

New Aeotec Key Fob Remote (ZW088-A)

I have used the old Aeotec Key Fob Remote (DSA22) successfully for over a year now. I recently purchased two of the new Gen 5 Z-Wave key fobs (ZW088-A) and things are not so good. The setup and define/sync are pretty much the same as the old one, but I am unable to define triggers for the individual buttons. I can create a trigger for the key fob on a Z-Wave command received, but the only options available in the pull-down menu are "Battery Level Update" or "Any Command". On the older key fob, I can select "Button 1 Pressed", "Button 1 Held", and so on. It seems that Aeotec did something with the new key fob that is not compatible with Indigo.

I am enclosing a segment of the Indigo Event Log showing a define/sync for the new key fob and a sequence of button pressings. Note at the end that Indigo does respond to the individual buttons both when pressed and when held. The only problem is defining triggers to respond to those received Z-Wave commands.

Can anyone help with this? Do we need a software fix and a new Indigo release?

Thanks,

David Krause

Re: Aeon Labs Key Fob Remote (DSA22)

Hi David,

I had to add the new model ID to Indigo. I've done so, but I don't have a gen 5 key fob to test it against. If you want to try it before we release the next version of Indigo then contact us.
