Yosemite issues

Every since installing Yosemite, I am unable to use the DigiTemp plugin. The log file shows the following over and over:

Re: Yosemite issues

Try the following:

1) Stop the Indigo Server.

2) Download this replacement file for DigiTemp.py.

3) RIght (or CONTROL key) click on the file /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/Plugins/DigiTemp.indigoPlugin and choose the Show Package Contents menu item.

4) Replace the following file Contents/Server Plugin/DigiTemp.py with the file you downloaded in step #2.

5) Restart the Indigo Server.

Re: Yosemite issues

Matt was kind enough to send me an updated version of the plugin with his fixes. Users can download the new version from the main topic.

Re: Yosemite issues

Man, you guys work fast. Of course Matt's fix for DigiTemp and DSC Alarm worked as planned. Awesome.

Re: Yosemite issues

Matt,
I know this likely isn't the right place for this, but is there some way we could get some sort of central lookup to see compatibility issues with major software updates like yosemite? I'm sure you guys have most of the bugs sewn up but I am reluctant to upgrade because I (as I assume many others) have a good amount of third party plugins.

Re: Yosemite issues

As of right now, I don't know of any outstanding Yosemite / Indigo compatibility problems. There were a few problems reported with 3rd party plugins mentioned above (DigiTemp, DSC Alarm, ad2usb) but those are all taken care of I believe. It is still too early for me to give a "everyone upgrade your Indigo Mac" official blessing though. :-)

Update: I believe the Nest plugin is currently not working because of the python change in Yosemite. If you setup is dependent on the Nest plugin, then do not upgrade to Yosemite yet.
Update #2: Perhaps Nest plugin is working after all. Follow its forum thread for details.

Re: Yosemite issues

I have only upgraded my laptop.. and it has some other issues, chrome, remote connections ...

With the INDIGO production server I would wait a bit more.
There are likely other issues with other 3rd party tools, like with GNUPLOT, MATPLOT usb drivers etc.

just my 2 cents

Re: Yosemite issues

Hi

Well i did the upgrade to Indigo 7 on a newer mac that i had which has Yosemite, besides a few plugin issues that are now working it seem to be
working good. The only plugin thats giving me a little problem is the DigiTemp I'm getting different errors than others had. I have 6 Temp sensors
which at different time some sensor show up and some don't, I'm using DigiTem v1.0.2 not sure if anyone else has seen this.

Thanks

Re: Yosemite issues

To be honest I haven't used this plugin in some time so I can't say for sure how it's working now. I might be able to help if you increase the logging in the plugin's preferences and then send the errors again.

Re: Yosemite issues

Been using DigiTemp for years with no troubles, have updated both indigo and the mac OS several times.
Currently running a Mac mini with indigo7 and Sierra, however my version of DigiTemp is 1.0.3
You might want to try an upgrade.

Re: Yosemite issues

You can download 1.0.3 on the main DigiTemp page in this forum. That just might fix it.

Re: Yosemite issues

Hi
Well i tried v1.0.3 i was hoping this would fix it but as you can see i have pretty much the same errors. I cant think of anything else to try
and there no other plugin to use thease 1-wire sensor's i have strung all around the house that i know of. I apreicate your help in trying
to solving this for me. could it be a bad adaptor? or do i need to install a USB driver on the new machine to read the adaptor.

Thanks

Re: Yosemite issues

It looks like the plugin is working fine once the COM port comes up. It finds 5 sensors. It appears the hardware has either lost communication with those other two sensors or they've been changed so the serial numbers no longer match.

Maybe delete the two devices it's complaining about and re-add them?

Re: Yosemite issues

Hi
I tried deleting the 2 sensors that didn't take and reload them, it seem like every time i do a scan for the sensors it comes up different number of sensor
found with the same errors (sensor was not updated at the poll interval) and (DigiTemp Error DigiTemp process exceeded our time limit so it was killed.)
what ever sensor has the error the Temp disappears off the main Indigo home page. Now this is on a newer Mini Mac running Yosemite OSX 10.10.5
running Indigo 7 So what i tried next was shut down that computer and started up my older mac running OSX Lion 10.7.5 with Indigo 6 and the first
scan found all the sensors and i had no errors at all which leads me to believe that all my cabling and sensors and the adaptor should be fine In the configuration tab of the plugin which says ( DS9097U Serial Port = usbserial-A501HY6D) which is says the same thing on both Mac's.
could Yosemite be giving the plugin a polling interval problem vs Lion? I can't imagine it being a hardware issue in the Mac. like the USB Host controller
communicating with the adaptor.
Thanks again
