Autolog Stella-Z problem...probably

I realized a heating system that consists of :

- 1 Stella-Z thermostats (for now)
- 1 Channel Boiler Actuator (SSR303 / ASR-ZW)

I performed the steps you described in "Stella -Z Thermostat Controller (
V2.1.2 ) Information". I set the AM / PM Schedule .
I created a Schedule that is activated every 55 minutes that performs the
following action :

- Keep Heat Source Controller Alive

…when you run this schedule it log this error :

Code: Select all
Autolog Stella-Z Error          Error in plugin execution ExecuteAction:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "plugin.py", line 525, in processKeepHeatSourceControllerAlive
<type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: elem or key type must be either an elem
integer ID, elem string name, or elem instance

I realized a Action Groups with next actions:

- Turn Thermostat On
- Set Heat Setpoint to 30°

... when I run this action, in the period set in AM / PM Schedule, the
actuator does not start and for that it don’t perform AM/PM schedules.

someone can help me?
Thanks

Hopefully I can - I have only just spotted your PM and this posting :)

I have checked and reproduced the error you have found
I need to update the documentation as you no longer have to specify the keep alive schedule as it is done automatically.
Also, I need to remove the action "Keep Heat Source Alive" as it shouldn't be able to invoked externally via an Action Group.
I will look into sorting this out and posting an update (hopefully tomorrow - Saturday).

So that has (or will) resolve the first problem :)

As to the second problem, I have just tried what I think you are describing and it works for me. :?

So I need to get a bit more detail from you as to the exact steps you are taking so I can understand the issue better.
If the thermostat is within a specified AM/PM schedule then you don't need to turn it on - it will be on if the ambient temperature is less than the setpoint.
However if the setpoint has been reached (or it is there already) then the thermostat will be off e.g. 6C
To force it on you can either set the setpoint higher than the ambient (Like setting it to 30C assuming ambient is less than 30C) or you can do the Action 'Boost' which will set the setpoint to a couple of degrees above ambient (by default although this can be modified in the thermostat config dialogue - Boost Delta)

A few of questions:
  1. Has the Plugin been able to control the Stella-Z at all or has it never worked?
  2. Have you performed the step to setup the Monitor Z-Wave Activity trigger? Without this the Plugin won't work properly.
If you can post the configuration of your stella-Z then I will try and replicate your situation. Also if you could post a copy of the log that shows the period when this is going wrong it may help.

PM me if you prefer.

Re: Autolog Stella-Z problem...probably

As to the second problem, I think I've solved:

- Plugin control Stella-Z and it works (even before).
- I’ve not performed the step to setup the Monitor Z-Wave Activity trigger. Now I’ve setup it and the Plugin work properly (the actuator start and perform AM/PM schedules).

The first problem persists.

Thanks

Re: Autolog Stella-Z problem...probably

I have uploaded a new version of the Plugin and updated the documentation :)

I have added in additional logic so that it would have picked up your first problem and put a warning in the log.
I have corrected the second problem and removed the keep alive command as the Plugin does this processing automatically.

Hopefully this will address the issues you found :)

Re: Autolog Stella-Z problem...probably

Now is it perfetct for me... Thank's

Do you think to add, in an upcoming release of your plugin, the possibility to assign to the "Set Heat Setpoint" the value of a variable ...

Thank's
