Lutron Leap kPd device numbers for trigger selection

Post by SMUSEBY »

For a W6BRL, the 6 device buttons are assigned sequential numbers; for triggers, the device numbers available for triggering with a keypad button skip by 4, and do not appear to correspond to the device numbers.
In addition, the alpha numeric label for a keypad button in the device group does not correspond to the label for the listed buttons when selecting a keypad button for a trigger. I am able to make them work, but it would be nice if there were possible to make each keypad button label for the device the same as the keypad button label for the for the trigger.
Is this possible? - if so, how?
Is there a significance (that would be useful to know) for the device number for each keypad button; same question for the keypad button number listed in the trigger listing?

I’ll look at it when I get home this weekend. I think I’m using the names the API returns, and I’m unlikely to change that. But I need to confirm.

OK - no rush.
Is there some way I can refresh the devices such that any Indigo revisions to the device names will propagate to the trigger names?

BTW, the Lutron keypads / Indigo access is rock solid. And I am able to control the status of the keypad LEDs. It's not clear why I couldn't in the past.

Not sure. I’ll have to test it.

The numbers are returned by the library I use. They might actually be assigned by the Lutron processor, but I have no direct visibility into that. They have no significance other than being a unique number for each entity.

The only thing I could do is not show the number. I can't reassign it to something else, and it's not significant in any way, so there's no point.
