unifi upgrade from USG4 to next level

Post by kw123 »

as the support for VPN L2TP (supported on USG4) is disappearing I am looking at an UNIFI upgrade.

Current setup

2 Wan -> USG4 -> 24port POE Switch -> several 8 port POE switches -> several WIFI AP, several UNIF cameras
controller: Cloud Key Gen2 Plus..
~ 50 IP clients
I am using 2 WAN ports in balanced mode (one with 110Mb DSL, one with 50Mb 5G) that's the max I can get at my house in Vienna.

Looking at the upgrade solutions for the USG4: They are expensive and do not have 2 Ethernet wan ports.

Can anyone give me guidance / share experience?

The Cloud Gateway Ultra can have two WAN ports and is only $129 MSRP.

You didn't mention this need, but I thought I'd point it out just in case, also because I almost missed this detail: The Cloud Gateways are similar to USGs in that they do not have integrated wifi.

Is anyone using the Ultra? is it stable ... not like the dream machine?

I guess the MAX is an upgrade to the ULTRA

I have a USG3 (I think) now. Never used a UDM.

Not sure what I'm going to use in the new house. Probably a DMP or DMSE. Or maybe a Cloud Gateway Max.

So is the MAX the replacement for USG3+CloudKey?

That would be interesting

It looks like.

And with 0.5 - 2tb for video. But with 2tb it gets expensive.

Now I got an RMA for my CK for the second time as HDDfailed; I installed an SSD and is day/night. Now CK is also sold with SSD option.
Do you have any link for this new baby?
