Broken pipe after installing new modem

Post by colovin »

My cable modem shot craps so I replaced it with the exact same modem. Arris SB6190. With the new modem online I'm now getting this error from DSC Alarm Plugin.

DSC Alarm Error Connection RX Error: connection failed ([Errno 54] Connection reset by peer)
DSC Alarm Error Connection TX Error: socket connection failed: [Errno 32] Broken pipe

Only thing different is the Modem. If there are any suggestions on what to check and correct I'm all eyes. Has been working just fine for years.

Thanks

Oh, DSC Alarm is 2.2.2 which I think is the latest.

This means the Envisalink cannot make a proper network connection. This has been reported before by users on this forum. I would try to power cycle the Envisalink and/or restart it from its internal website.

I found the problem. Some how or other I managed to change the subnet on the host computer to 255.255.255.255. I'm not sure how I did that, the computer has a manual IP address. Changing the last 255 to 0 solved this and some other network flakiness. Now all is running correctly.. I'm not sure about me, but the computer is :-)
