Default voice

Is there a way to change the default male voice in Indigo, I would like to change it to female.

You can change the default voice for the Mac in the Speech System Preference. If you're using the "say" AppleScript command you can specify the voice (say "text" using "Victoria").

Yes I did that but it does not change the voice in Indigo (in the speak box in the actions menu) any ideas why?

You probably have to restart the IndigoServer.

The original post is quite old(2010) so I don't think the answer applies. The current Indigo documentation seems to imply "Speak a text string using the built-in speech synthesizer." that it only uses this voice.

Is there a way in Monterey to use the System Voice as defined in System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Spoken Content -> System Voice. ?
