Re: Hue Lights discussion

HI, thanks for this wonderful plug-in.

Does the plug-in support Innr SP 220 zigbee smart plug OR the Ikea Trådløs wall-plug??

I seem to have the same model (LCA005) not showing up in the plugin.

Except there is no 800 in the bulb info.

Its just the lumens of the bulb . I needed to differentiate from the 1100 as I had 4 sets of different bulbs.

The Hue Lights plugin doesn't yet support the Innr SP 220 plug, but if you can pair it with the Hue bridge, the plugin can be updated to support that plug. The plugin does support one model of the IKEA Tradfri plug, but without the exact model ID from the Hue app, I don't know if it's the same plug as the one you're looking it. But again, if you can pair the plug with the Hue bridge, support can be added to the plugin.

Re: Hue Lights discussion

Hi Mr. Sheldon,

I hope you don't mind I took the liberty of modifying myself the supported devices file, to try to add support to the following 3 way in wall Zigbee switch device, I got cheap from an online store here in Brazil:

Once I got hold of the Zigbee device itself, I then proceeded adding it to my deCONZ ConbeeII Zigbee interface.
Since I also have Homebridge running in my network, I was then able to make the three switches appear on the Homebridge Accessories web page and on Apple's Home app in my iPhone. Clicking on each individual device showed all three worked as expected, in the deCONZ Phoscon web interface (primary link), as well as the Homebridge Web Interface (secondary link), and also in the Home App (tertiary link). I was already happy with those results, but since Indigo is my main automation hub, I was eager to find a way to create individual devices for each switch in Indigo. Trying creating the devices as Hue Lights in Indigo failed because the current release did not have the device model in it's dictionary.
So I took the plunge and modified the above mentioned file myself andI must admit I was happily surprised to find out that my clumsy intervention was successful, as I was then able to add the 3 switches successfully as Hue light devices.

So, for the sake of other users that may also own the above mentioned device, I thought it would be nice to drop you this little post.

Please refer to the 3 attached files below for more info.

Best regards and thank you once again for this wonderful plugin.
Cesar

PS: I'm running Indigo 2021.1.2 and Hue Light plugin version 1.7.61

Re: Hue Lights discussion

I have to get 30+ lamps for my new home I like to go with either Ikea or Philips Hue ($=2*ikea).
I don't like the shelly devices, they sometimes don't work and don't have nice physical dimmers.

As I understand it (please comment or correct me)

1. Ikea tradfri only uses zigbee and works with its owns dimmers and the Ikea app through the Ikea gateway and ?? also through the Philips hue gateway and also the Philips hue dimmers ??

2. Philips Hue bulbs come EITHER in zigbee OR in bluetooth versions (??not both??),
With the hue bridge/gateway you can set light/color.. through iPhone app and hue dimmers. Bluetooth can bet set also directly iPhone app bluetooth--> bulb; When using bluetooth the bridge/iphone has to be within 10 meters to talk to the bulb

3. the Indigo Hue plugin talks to the Philips hue bridge / gateway through HTTP / Restful interface. Only one gateway is supported, for a second bridge a second plugin with changed name for the plugin has to be used.

Is this correct?

Karl

Re: Hue Lights discussion

Another option if you are starting from scratch is the hubitat as a hub then you can use any bulb and a wider choice of zigbee devices.
