Re: OS 11

the background changes a little.

looks like several betas are still coming..
and the 3rd option is called "auto" besides dark and light

but the upgrade was seamless otherwise.

Re: OS 11

Interesting. The last beta I checked was fine but there may have been an update since then. I'll switch and update and see if I can reproduce.

Re: OS 11

I checked and I was running the same beta as you posted in the first post and it was fine.

Having real issues getting the beta to update though. I LOVE BETA OS RELEASES...

This might be the problem. 7.4.1 is the latest client, not 7.4.0. The version check only checks the server version not the client.

Re: OS 11

After what turned out to be hours, I finally got the latest beta installed. Still works fine on my 2018 mini:

I do notice that the outline view background color is missing (seems to be white). I suspect that it might be the client mismatch in your environment.

Re: OS 11 folder names [closed]

yes the upgrade to 7.4.1. did the trick.

may be an opportunity to improve:
when clicking on check for updates, it should point out that a new version is available..

Normally a different client / server versions don't work at all together.
Then the "all ok" message with 7.4.0 (client) and 7.4.1 (server) made me not check the new version on the indigo web server...

sorry for the confusion

Re: OS 11

Does the Indigo client 7.4.1 100% work well with Big Sur 11.01?

Because this announcement said:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24118

Indigo may not run correctly under emulation mode (Rosetta 2). We obviously don't know now and it will likely be a while before we do. In particular device drivers are likely to be an issue aside from any thing else, and fixing those is outside our control.
It is likely we will first be releasing a version of Indigo to fix any Rosetta 2 compatibility issues found (if it is needed). We'll be evaluating creating an Apple Silicon native version as well of course, but it is unlikely to be available when the new Apple hardware ships.

Thanks for the official statement.

Re: OS 11

Indigo support on M1 based Macs is still TBD. Based on Apple's description of Rosetta 2 it should work. Based on previous experiences of Apple introducing driver level issues we have no control over (not our device drivers), we don't yet know for certain that it will. We do have a M1 machine on order, but it has not arrived and thus we haven't QA'd it in-house yet.

Re: OS 11

Here's the current status of Big Sur support (which has nothing to do with Rosetta 2 on the M1 Macs).

Re: OS 11

Thanks for the very fast feedback Matt.
OK, we now know what we can tell to our customers; the client is working well at Intel Macs with Big Sur.

We do have a M1 machine on order

It's a pity that the distance between us is so far, otherwise I could bring you a new M1 Mac mini next week :D

All the best,

John
