Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I just checked and we haven't had anyone submit a device profile for it yet, so I'm not sure if it will work.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

If I buy it and submit a profile, what are the chances of it being supported in the next release? (or one after that?). Also, is there some fall back support (like with regular switches) or it's just not going to work at all?

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Not sure if it will make it into the next version or not. It is possible, but not a certainty.

It is possible it will work out-of-the-box without an Indigo device definition. If it doesn't then you'll be very likely to be able to send it raw Z-Wave commands to control the individual relays.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I have one arriving tomorrow, and will submit device definition and report if it works at all. If it doesn't work, I'll try to figure out the raw z-wave to send it. I'm sure community here will help with that.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Sounds good. After filing the device profile report online (from device dialog), also copy/paste the Event Log results of the sync process into a forum reply for me.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Here is the event log. It looks like it works perfectly out of the box. The only thing is that inputs are not really inputs, but controll the relays directly so they don't show up in Indigo. I think this is the way it works. The inputs are just button inputs to controll the relays and then the relays report their state. A bit of a compromise, but at $54CAD with 3 relays its still good. By they way the BY_Pool_Heater_HP and BY_Pool_Heater_NG is what this is to replace. My insteon filter failed on the pump, chlorinator and uv sterilizer, and now no signal can get through to controll the heaters (my wife likes it as it overheats the pool now).

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

There is a major problem with the module. When I turn on one two are responding. So if I turn off one two are turned off. One is locked with two, two is locked with three. Three is locked with two. Super strange.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Update. It looks like the other relays, don't actually respond, just indigo thinks they did. For now, I can use relay 1 and 3 as it looks like they report independently. I'll do a bit more testing tomorrow. I'll have to disconnect them from my heaters, and confirm a bit better. I don't like my heat pump and gas heaters to be cycling so quickly.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Let us know how this goes. Also turn on Indigo's Z-Wave debug logging (via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu item) so that it shows more detail in the Event Log window. Try to document what occurs with the different cases so we can see what logic is behind the commands received/sent.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I jest received one of these and here is what I am seeing:

When adding the device to Indigo, Relay Switch, Relay Switch 2 and Relay Switch 3 are created by default.

When Relay Switch is changed, Relay Switch 2 and Relay Switch 3 follow along. Relay Switch 2 and Relay Switch 3 control commands only effect their statuses.

It seems like Relay Switch is really "Change all Switches" and what is missing and needed is Relay Switch 1.

SW1 input is latching, each time SW1 terminals are closed, R1 toggles from open to closed or vice versa. The status of Relay Switch is reflected correctly in indigo.

SW2 and SW3 input are not latching, closing the SW2 and SW3 terminals closes their matching relays. The Status of Relay Switch 2 and Relay Switch 3 are reflected correctly in indigo. The Status of Relay Switch is ON when SW2 and/or SW3 are closed.

Here is the Device Configatrion:
Code: Select all
 Z-Wave                          Indigo Device "045 - Relay Switch" Z-Wave Properties:
Indigo Z-Wave Version: 7.4.1

Encryption Status: Not Supported
Multi-Endpoint Types: 1:(10 : 01), 2:(10 : 01), 3:(10 : 01)
Multi-Endpoint Classes: 1:[5E 85 59 8E 6C 25 9F], 2:[5E 85 59 8E 6C 25 9F], 3:[5E 85 59 8E 6C 25 9F]

Features: routing, beaming
Neighbors: 11, 17, 19, 20, 35, 40
Associations: 1:[1] 2:[] 3:[] 4:[]
Config Values: - none -

This is a handy device and I would love for it to work as I think it should (notice I ddi not say 'work as designed'), being able to control Relay Switch (1) without impact on anything else.

Let me know if more information or testing is needed,

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

That is what I'm seeing. I thought that 3 is independent, but no it follows 1. I also would like to have relay work independently. Its a handy device at a reasonable price.
