Fibaro RGBW module 2 FGRGBW-442

Has anyone got one and tried to use it? I'm guessing I need to wait until the next release for full support. If I do need to wait does anyone know how indigo would treat this?

Alternatively, does anyone know the benefit of the new version? It's just to control a CCT strip so guessing the old version would work just as well and is cheaper.

While Indigo has a device definition for the older FGRGBWM, we don't yet have one for this newer version. It might work out-of-the-box with Indigo as an RGB controllable device, but we won't know until someone gets one and tries it. If you do then copy/paste the Event Log window results of the sync operation so we can see the details about how it reports its capabilities to Indigo.

It finally arrived today after Amazon couldnt be bothered to deliver it yesterday. Next day delivery *except if the delivery driver wants to go home early.

Its a great looking device, and a bit easier to use than their other first gen modules in wiring up.

It has setup as a generic multilevel switch, so has a master level switch device, then 4 more, one for each of R.G,B and W. Device details below. I am guessing there is no easy way to map a dummy RGB device to this as otherwise its going to be a pain to use. I might have to default the colour (I am actually just using this to control a CCT strip) and then setup the master in HKB.

That helps. We'll look at adding preliminary support for this to the next version (7.4.1). It will make that first device an RGBW Device in Indigo that accepts the action to set the color.

Thanks. Let me know if any other help or testing is needed.
For now I'm using groups to set the required white colour and brightness.

More generally on these devices, as well as RGB and RGBW, I and am sure others also use these for CCT strips on only 2 channels, to control white temperature.
Seeing the post in SDK dev about device colour attributes, would it be possible to have a config setting that would change them from being RGB and white simultaneously to supports 2 white channels simultaneously (either force it to use R and G say or gives a choice)
It would greatly enhance the fibrocartilage of these devices.

Would they then show up more correctly in indigo and other plugins/homekit?
Otherwise I have to explain to my wife how to use colour picker to get the right white.

Can only get Red to work. No obvious errors in the log. Trying a RGBW strip.

We'll need to see what the Event Log is showing, both when you try to change the color (also give a description of how you are changing the color) and of a re-sync of the device.

If I try and change say Red (only brightness works though; so by changing W )but via the parent object the actual 442 multi switch here's what I get

Can you describe in more detail what occurs as you control each device: composite, red, green, blue, and white? Include log snippets of all of them. Also, when controlling the composite try choosing several different colors from the color picker. Do the LEDs change at all when choosing different colors from the picker (for the composite device)?

Lastly, try moving all of the brightness sliders for Red, Green, Blue, and White to 0%, then try controlling the composite device (via the color picker). Does that work? Next, try changing all of the R, G, B, W devices to 100% then try controlling the composite device (via color picker). Any different?
