Linear actuators and HA

I just realized the time and money cost of entry for using these is actually pretty low- anybody using these in their homes (with Indigo)?

For perpetuity... I woke up this morning thinking to myself, “I think ima gonna do somethin’.”

Seriously, I never show my face on the internet, but this is too awesome not to do so:

This is too cool. I am desperately thinking of a use case I can sell to SWMBO.

For me, the trick to getting a good WAF was:
a) “it’s safer this way”
b) a hipstery reclaimed wood/ black pipe approach
c) having it (ultimately) controllable by a wall switch that she or her mom could use
d) making magnets as a “science project” with the DC power supply and my 3-year-old
e) confining Subject 0 to the garage for beta testing.

I now have her okay to have a bed roll out from under the second-row riser of my theater. I am ecstatic.

Seriously, I’m really over the moon with the potential of this. In particular, windows that open and close based on indoor/outdoor climate data. A DPDT relay will cut down on the nest of wires, requiring only:
1 IO Linc (or networked relay)
1 12V 5A power supply (at most)
1 actuator per window on the same relay

Super pumped

“I figured that out on the can.”

That is where I do some of my best thinking.
