Z-wave (missing or disabled):

Hi!

First stability problem after several years...

Almost all devices (missing or disabled):. Looks like the Stick i ok but the link between device and indigo is lost?!
Is there a fix for this.

Restarted computer, does not help...

OS 10.12.4
Indigo 7.1.1

Any ideas?

BR
Patrik

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

Is your database loading correctly? Is it named properly? It looks like maybe a different Indigo database got loaded somehow...

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

Yeah I've had that happen occasionally over past year. Sometimes it's just one device which makes it hard to spot something has gone wrong. Sometimes it's most, like yours, so at least I investigated.
Now at least I know what to check first. Also no idea why it happens

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

That happened to me yesterday ! two Zwave devices had communication disabled, and I am 100% I did not do it and there are no action group or scripts programmed to do it. I did a server restart in the morning because it is not sending emails anymore (didn't fix the problem though), and this is the only unusual thing that happened these past days.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

I've discussed it with Matt and Jay before and I don't think there is a clear answer on why and no way to catch it happening.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

The Z-Stick can get into a temporary bad state and send bad/bogus information to Indigo, causing Indigo to disable devices because the types of devices stored in the Z-Stick are misreported to Indigo. We are looking at making Indigo handle the situation better.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

After a few stable months, its happened to me now twice in the last 3 days. One time it was only 3 devices, the other it was practically all my zwave devices (may have been all)

It would be great even if Indigo couldnt handle the cause effectively, to be able to monitor through plugin or code if a list of devices had comms turned off, and have an action to turn it back on.

I feel your pain!

Also had this problem but think mine was down to garage sensors too far from house which since I added repeaters in the house loft and the garage eaves it has not happened for a while (famous last words) and I could almost guarantee doing an Optimize would cause the loss of devices.

I have now put a trigger to reset them, full details and code can be found at https://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=19916&start=30#p163225

I also added a PushOver notification just incase to let me know and check it recovered.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

Amazing, thank you. Not sure how I missed that thread. I have set mine to run that script every 15 mins (did debate doing it every few hours but dont see downside in more frequent running).

How did you get it to trigger? Do you mean it runs when automatically as soon as a device gets disabled? I cant work out how to do that.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

This is still happening randomly to different devices.
There need to be a solution to this rather sooner then later.
An un predictable system is a showstopper for my family, Stability has been the trademark for Indigo and the big reason for me to use it.

Re: Z-wave (missing or disabled):

Hi Patrik,

Improving how Indigo handles this is a pretty high priority item right now, but not yet in 7.2. The root problem is the Z-Stick getting into a bad state but we need to make Indigo better about recovering when it occurs. I'm curious are you using a Z-Stick Series 2 or Gen 5? I'm wondering if Aeotec has fixed the problem with the Gen 5 versions.

Nope. Still happens to me on Gen5, although not tried upgrading firmware
