Reflector goes down daily

Why does my reflector go down daily? Does it have anything to do with sleep settings on the computer? Internet connectivity?

We'll need more details (Event Log lines from around the time the reflector goes down), though if your Mac goes to sleep then that's one obvious one. You can't allow your Mac to sleep if you want Indigo to do anything including be controlled via the reflector.

Re: Reflector goes down daily

I thought I saw an article in the wiki for recommended power saving settings. I have sleep set to never for CPU and hard drive.

At this time I navigated to the reflector address in safari and saw the message: "Reflector connection is currently down."

So now I restart the local services to get the reflector back up.

Re: Reflector goes down daily

Clearly, from the log, your Mac is telling Indigo that it's going to sleep. This is a relatively common problem, Apple is quite aggressive at trying to sleep Macs (there are definitely bugs around the sleep behavior). There are a few utilities out there that will keep your Mac from going to sleep. I used one called Amphetamine when I was having this issue.

Ah yes I’ve used “caffeine” in the past. I never had this issue when I ran Indigo on an old Mac mini In the past.
