Poll of RFPlayer users

Can everyone who has an RFPlayer please raise you hand? And while you're at it, post which version (US or EU) and what devices you're using it with. Or trying to use it with.

I have a very limited number of devices to use for testing. A couple of Oregon Scientific temp/humidity sensors, one Visonic closure sensor, and some X10 RF gear.

I'm about ready to release a major upgrade to the plugin, and I'd like to make sure I have at least skeleton support for any other devices that people want to use with the RFPlayer but might not be supported yet.

Thanks!

Re: Poll of RFPlayer users

Joe,

I'm just using it for a set of blinds which I've learned the commands for. I plan to add some Oregon sensors but haven't ordered any yet. I'm using the EU version.

Does the RFPlayer recognize the protocol of the blinds? Or did you just have to learn the command using the Parrot function?

I didn't manage to get it to recognise (in saying that I didn't spend a lot of time at it) and just used the Parrot function. Just for info the motors I'm using are http://www.yewdale.co.uk/prod/230v-ac-tubular-motor#product_info. I have 6 individual blinds across a corner window.

Did you have to do anything special to get the shades to recognize the RFPlayer transmitting the Parrot codes? I can detect transmissions from the remote that match the learned Parrot code, but when I try to transmit those codes (Using "ON A1 PARROT", for example) nothing happens. Did you need to pair the RFPlayer dongle with the shades? I've got a pair of hurricane shutters I'm trying to get to work.

Re: Poll of RFPlayer users

Didn’t do anything special other than after detecting each transmission I tested it before saving to ensure each blind operated as expected.

Did you manage to get the Parrot codes working ? I've tried but cannot despite the RFPlayer App working sending the codes.

I haven't tried in a while. I think the problem for me is the location of the RFPlayer vs the receivers on the hurricane shutters, which are quite a ways away. I have a hard time with the remote that came with the shutters. I have to be right up at the slider doors to get them to operate.
