Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

Is it just me or is the latest version v1.2.0 released on Dec. 17, 2017 broken?

I have reinstalled, reset API and key and it fails to send but I can send from the MacBook to the iPhone fine.

Used Time Machine and replaced 1.2.0 with 1.1.6 and now it works again

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

Did you look at the post just before yours? It's apparently a bug introduced in 1.2.0.

BTW, you can download previous releases of the plugin from the releases tab in the Plugin Store.

time for a pushover subforum?

An observation: there's a single thread for Pushover plugin with 9 pages going back 4+ yrs.

Would it not be better for users and the developer to close this and create a subforum where we try to have separate threads for separate topics? bonus for adding sticky posts for things like "how to get started", etc.?

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

Good news!
Pushover has been updated, and now support attachments. Excellent for notifications with motion detection and camera setup.

Now we just need an updated version of the indigo plugin .
Anyone that is maintaining this plugin?

https://pushover.net/api#attachments

Attachments
As of version 3.0 of our iOS, Android, and Desktop apps, Pushover messages can include an image attachment. When received by a device, it will attempt to download the image and display it with the notification. If this fails or takes too long, the notification will be displayed without it and the image download can be retried inside the Pushover app. Note that, like messages, once attachments are downloaded by the device, they are deleted from our servers and only stored on the device going forward. Attachments uploaded for devices that are not running at least version 3.0 of our apps will be discarded as they cannot be displayed by those devices.

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

I played a bit with the email to notification feature. It looks nice, but it is a bit to slow to be used for door bell camera in my opinion.
But if implemented directly in the pushover plugin I assume it would be faster...

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

Very nice; in the plugin it shall be nice to have the possibility to "confirm" a notification (Pushover already provides this feature, but not yet implemented)

1.2.0 is broken:

I would have to open the message settings and save it, then it works. But this is too much trouble.

I guess this is because the user (which should be optional) has to be in the config. Even if it is empty. This behavior should be fixed.

Update:
I accidentally updated to 1.2.0 again and it still doesn't work. I can make the error disappear (see above) but I never get any message.
This should be fixed urgently.

Please check your installations. You might not get any messages now...

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

The Pushover plugin is not working for me either.

I am not happy about this, as Pushover Notifications are crucial to my home automation setup (e.g. fire alarm notifications). :|

IMHO, the Pushover plugin should be a well-maintained Indigo default plugin.

I have tried: version 1.2.0, reinstalling the plugin, reinstalling Indigo 7, upgrading to Pushover 1.2.1. Nothing has worked so far... not sure what to do.

Here is a typical log entry when I call the plugin:

Pushover Debug
Pushover Debug Message

Version 1.1.6 is working fine for me. Try disabling and deleting the plugin then install 1.1.6 from the Plugin Store.

Re: Pushover Plugin - push notifications

Downgrading to Pushover 1.1.6 actually works!

So, downgrading several version solves the bug(s)?! :o
