Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

Help, frustrating myself with the whole images thing in Indigo control pages... this does my head in!

Here's one that I must be doing something wrong on.
Indigo Control page - Device State for Alarm - {door name} using the current state. Front door is currently closed. Conservatory Open.

When I preview the control page it incorrectly shows the image for 'Open'.
In my Images folder (under devices) I have tried images for Door.png, Door+closed.png, Door+on.png, Door+open.png. (Currently all 4 exist)

Try copying your closed icon to Door+.png and see if that helps.

Tried but no dice. Then again I don't know if I need to reboot my Mac for indigo to pick up the new image?

Usually it'll pick it up automatically if it's a new file name. If it replaces an existing file then you need to restart the indigo server. Sometimes safari gets things cached and shift-reload forces it to update correctly.

Computer says no.

Yes, I think C4W is right. You'll need a file called 'Door+.png" and not "Door.png" as your base image. I think that 3 image files will be enough for you.

Door+.png
Door+open.png
Door+closed.png

But there is no harm in also having files named:

Door+on.png
Door+off.png

No, but after you do the renamings suggested, go back to the control page and select Door+.png instead of the Door.png. Renaming it is the first step, but need to select that renamed file too...

Re: Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

Looks like folks posted the answers here: rename the file (add + to base filename before extension) and reselect it in the Control Page.

The + on the base image tells Indigo to use the more advanced (but slower) image matching heuristics.

To be safe you will want to NOT have Door.png, only Door+.png as your non-variable graphic, I'm not sure how Indigo will read that if you have both. In Indigo you may only see Door.png even though it's called Door+.png, so I would restart the Indigo server service afterwards just to be safe.

Re: Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

The door+.png also functions as a door+off.png, or door+closed.png etc., so I just use
two images for simple on/off graphics. e.g. door+.png and door+on.png.

So I created the + icon and have restarted Indigo, but it's still not displaying as a selectable option in the editor, it just shows me the old non-+ name.

Quit and relaunch Indigo to have it refresh that menu.

Re: Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

Done that already. Stopped Indigo. Quit the program.
Re-launched the program.
No dice.

This is the issue I keep having with images. The last time I had this I ended up having to restart my whole Mac to get it to pick up the new images, but I can't be doing that every time. Is there something else going on here?

Re: Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

So after another reload of Indigo the image+ now shows up.

So I have 3 images in my directory now.

Door+
Door+closed
Door+open

When I try to use this, it just sets all of my devices in the web page to the closed image, when I know half of them are currently 'open'.

Re: Image for Device State - where am I going wrong?

I'm assuming they end in .png...

Are you sure you have the correct state selected for the device? I don't know what kind it is nor what the correct state is, but if you look at the state list when the device is selected it should show which state has the "open" or "closed" values.
